Housing furnishings limit needs an increase!!

So as many of you know for the longest time now the furnishings for any house has been set the limit of 350 (700 for eso +) like most avid eso home makers I still to this day find it extremely difficult to create the home I want to with the 700 limit especially when I’m buying the bigger houses , if you take the new lighthouse home it’s absolutely massive with different rooms tunnels etc and beach spaces , 700 limit isn’t enough to create a detailed personal space to show your own housing skills

With every new update there is never any talk of increasing housing furnishings space from its current 700 limit , despite bigger houses being more available in the crown store , they increase transmute crystal’s capacity to 1000 so why can’t they give us some more space to fill the homes we buy ?

In my personal opinion they need to increase the furnishings limit to least 1500 especially for the more large grand homes as 700 just isn’t enough,

transmute crystals are really not comparable to furnishings in homes.

i want more furnishing slots too, but we don't have it currently because of how some systems crash when there are too many furnishings in a house.

i have about 600-700 traditional furnishings in my Potentate’s Retreat, i don't know when it got too much but somewhere in that range it became too much for my PlayStation 4.

my PlayStation 5 thankfully has no problems entering the house, but friends with a PS4 still crashed.

Maybe ZOS is able to solve it similar to how they were able to add another class, but it's not likely to happen soon i think.

People dont crash when theres too many furnishings in the house. They crash when theres too many of the animated/interactable furnishings close to the entryway. Like placing the celestial nimbus and such at the entry will crash people on old gen xbox's. I hope it wont be too much longer before they stop supporting old gen, but I'm not holding my breath. Maybe placing a larger radius around the entry where special interactable furnishings cant be placed would help to raise the limit. Like theres a little space at the entrance where no furnishing can be placed, keep that radius for regular furnishing and add another, larger, for the game breaking furnishings.

Agreed, Specially since the large houses even tend to ehm .. inrease in size too. So many ideas for the new ones but just too low of a cap.

Ideally, it would be across the board, but if nothing else each category of home (Staple, Classic, Notable) should have its own category, with only the notables having something huge like 1500. Or perhaps there could be separate limits for interior vs exterior.

But, yes, even 700 is pretty tight sometimes. I hit that quick in Linchal Manor just on the exterior area because I was setting up a hedge maze on one side and flower gardens all over the place.

I guess a solution could be to increase it for PC/Mac players.

I am guessing you would have to impose more stringent hardware specification requirements for PC in order to do that.

It is not just older consoles that would struggle with content.

I totally agree that we need more furniture slots! My current Aylied Ruin build feels like it needs a lot more detailing, but I have reached the 700 cap... No idea what those with the 350 cap do... Conisdering the big crown houses cost a lot of money, I do not see why they have to cam them so low and make half of that ESO+ exclusive.

I could be wrong but I think way back when this discussion first started ZoS made it clear that furnishing limits on the consoles could not be increased (I don't know enough about them to know why), and that they would never increase something like that on PC that they couldn't do equally for the players on console.

I would love it to, but if I'm remembering correctly this would be why, and also why this suggestion has come up repeatedly over the years with no real response. :(

This. It's time to stop limiting capacity because of consoles & PCs released before the game came out.

We all wish this to happen at some point rather sooner than later. But the problem is the old gen consoles which tend to crash because of too much furnishing/animations. The easy solution would be to let PC players enjoy the increased furnishing limit, no harm done to anyone since PC is already disconnected from console platforms. I believe this is what community has been asking for and since they recently updated the minimum system requirements for PC and they announced some "new feature" coming to player housing, we can only hope..

I believe that at some point they will eventually have to end the support for older gen consoles if they wish to continue the game development in a serious way, there are many unreal engine 5 mmorpg titles coming up really soon and if ESO wishes to keep up with the competition, only reasonable way is to keep enhancing the game from graphics to content. So why wait. Launch of a new expansion is the best time to do so. Since microsoft bought the game studio, you could think that they too would like the idea to gently "force" people to upgrade their old console to the newer gen.

because this is well-known the elder scrolls, people will play it even it cant keep up.I think that's why Zos is unwilling to make progress.

I've said this so many times, but once more isn't going to hurt! I can accept a limit, especially for an online game but I cannot accept how arbitrarily that limit is applied. Firstly, when you add in special collectibles etc, the limit more like 800. Secondly, if I can have 800 items in one of those CS, limited availability, €100 grotesqueries, why can't I have 800 at Gorinir or even Boulder Tree??!! Imagine the feeling of luxurious abundance decorating a small or medium house with 800 items. So although I accept the limit, I am forever frustrated by the (un)strategic rather than technical reasoning on how those limits are implemented.

For a great surprise during the 10th Year Anniversary, could the housing limits be increased as part of this celebration since this has been a constant request for pretty much all 10 years!

Maybe just from 350 to 500 would be something, or 700 to 1000 with ESO+ please? and pro rata on the smaller ones. The need for allowing more special items (as above) is an annoying thing for me also, we get a great addition and cannot place it.

Of course we all would like it to be higher limit but appreciate that game design limits need to be taken into account, but as mentioned above in this thread, the houses are getting bigger and it takes a lot more things to personalise each and every space. Being restricted to only furnishing some part of the house makes no sense.

Thank you for considering this ZoS.

I understand the performance concerns, but what I seem to be hearing a lot is people who are being overly restricted on one very specific point, usually a single type, maybe two types, of furnishings. It seems different from player to player, based on how they decorate and use their home, with population almost never a concern.

As such, perhaps a good course of action would be to give each cap on a house a slider, and allow owners to adjust these caps to meet their individual needs, within the bounds of an overall limit (which each unit of cap being weighted relative to the performance impact of each type). This would allow players who want more of a specific furnishing to sacrifice other furnishings, or even allowed population, to increase the cap on that furnishing, and vice versa.

Not only would this system give players more flexibility in how they decorate, manage, and use their homes, but it would continue to be useful for that purpose even if, in the future, all the caps are raised to keep up with improving hardware.
