Suggestion for character select screen

I play on Xbox so I don't know what it looks like on PC, however I'd like some minor changes to be considered for the character select screen.

Currently on the character select screen you see your character, mount, pet, name, race, and class. These are all great but I'd like to see a couple more things added.

1.) Your current companion you have summoned.

2.) Your role.

Adding your companion may crowd the screen a bit, but they could always include them further in the background as though there's some distance there so their apparent size is smaller. I almost would rather see my companion than my pet, but that's just me.

The role we chose can be as simple as putting the symbol for our role next to our character name. This would help me visually assess what roles I have and hopefully discourage me from creating another damage dealer when I decide to create a new character. Plus I can more easily reorder my character list to sort my characters by roles.

That's it, two minor changes that aren't a major deal, just something that would be nice.

the companion could be interesting flavor for sure

role i dont think it would be useful for a number of reasons:
    • very easy to respec a character to change builds already (could just rework an existing character to be a different role if you have too many)
    • armory system (each character can do multiple roles already, if you have them set up)
    • accidentally setting the wrong role (fake role for a group and forgetting to change it)

for me all of my characters i already know exactly what role and purpose i designed them to do so it wouldnt really help me there

if i was making a new character, i also dont know what character im going to make until im playing them more and get them up to lvl 50 when i actually put a build together for them (i focus on mostly just leveling up skill lines before 50, or powerleveling in IC to get to 50 faster)

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

    companion would be cool!

i hope we at least get a more zoomed out screen for gamepad mode and consoles, because currently some characters like altmer are partially obscured by the interface and a lot of mounts are not fully in the screen.

to the other part of the OP, since your on console, you basically get what the PC has as "gamepad UI"

so PC does have the same UI if using a controller, but its entirely different if using a normal mouse/keyboard

way more visible space than say what is in the screenshots posted by lunaflora lol

I'd actually like to have less in it. I'm fine with just my character's image.

What are the names of both mounts? :o

I see what you're saying about changing builds and roles at armory stations. But you then have to change your role when you join a queue I just want my current role I selected during my last queue next to my character name. And just the role symbol , it wouldn't take up much space.

you can set your role to anything though, supposed you were with an organized group and were fake tanking, so you marked a tank role, but were a healer or dps gear wise

then you go to login later and still see your character as the tank role, even though that has absolutely no relation to what the character is set up to do

so dont see much point in adding a role marker to the character select when you can set it to be literally anything, unrelated to what your characters actual role is

there also was a point in time when you could select multiple roles (i dont see that coming back though)
