Did you saw last sentence "Included in the maintenance are the ESO Store and Account System." That is not only switch off and on like own PC and it is not only for pc, its for all megaservers. What about that Account system maintanence.

Length of Wednesday maintenance just before Whitestrake started: 12 hours.
Length of today's maintenance just after Whitestrake ends: 12 hours.
While they're saying it's a standard reboot, they're going to have to remove all traces of the event, update databases and loot tables, take the scroll of ferocity bonus off, test internally to see they're all working etc.
That's probably why EU is the same length as US.3 -

✭I hope they dispense with the 12 hour maintenances; that's another login reward I will miss out on. 4pm my time to 4am, and I can't play in the morning as tomorrow is one of my in-office days

✭Why maintenance at 12 am EST? That is only 9 PM here on the west coast. Normally they start PC NA maintenance at 1 am PST. Annoying.3 GOs, a Warlord, and bunches of prefects etc-- all classes...I've wasted a lot of time in PVP0 -

What I worry about is the Account maintenance is 6 hours longer than when the servers supposed to be up.

That was a crucial bit of information that was missing from the English announcement, thank you diligent German forum mod person for disclosing it to us and kind forum user for translating and sharing.
I was a bit baffled too; when they did the backend work for PC/EU the maintenance window for PC/NA was the regular 3 hour one rather than 12 hours (predicted, I seem to remember it was only 11 hours in the end).
Didn't understand why all servers had to go down for 12 hours due to PC/NA backend work rather than, well, regular 3 hour window instead.
Now I do, and this is a pleasing feeling.1
