Post in the German forum:My point is, it sounds like EU are getting the standard maintenance we get every 2 weeks which lasts, what, 4 hours? So why are we getting the full 12?

While they're saying it's a standard reboot, they're going to have to remove all traces of the event, update databases and loot tables, take the scroll of ferocity bonus off, test internally to see they're all working etc.
That's probably why EU is the same length as US.
And just...
Did you saw last sentence "Included in the maintenance are the ESO Store and Account System." That is not only switch off and on like own PC and it is not only for pc, its for all megaservers. What about that Account system maintanence.
What if it simply affected functionality. Then again, people will complain about not being able to log in or being kicked off the server.

What I worry about is the Account maintenance is 6 hours longer than when the servers supposed to be up.
