I guess I'm happy people get to enjoy my favorite mount as well - but I'm kinda miffed you are giving something away for free that I had to buy for 3000 Crowns not even half a year ago. Is there a precedent for that?

And what happens to us that already have the mount? Do we just get nothing on Day 21?

What a great month! The Seals, crates, and mount are really exciting. I certainly wouldn't mind if we had a few loaded-up months like this tied-in to content-based rewards like the Orsinium earnables from the other article. I can see it making some news and bringing players back.

The last few months of login rewards have made it very clear that the game needs to add choices to daily rewards, so that those of us who already have a reward can claim an alternate reward instead.

Maybe I'm naive, but has ZOS become more generous with their stuff?

In feb, a few Crown Crates in a row, a mount, extra PvP currency - seriously, this is getting more and more impressive.

Or repurpose the system for duplicates they have for Crown Crates, so it gets turned into gems or endeavors.

I don't mind, free crates and endeavors are nice. But it would be super nice if we got options.

Like I already had Orsinium for years (and was never a fan, but I'm in the minority there). It'd be really cool to get a choice instead, like Imperial Edition or Murkmire or even (never gonna happen) just 2000 crowns.

Likewise for the people who bought that mount only months ago. Couldn't there be another option, besides nothing?

excited to see free Scalecaller crates. The Frostbane mounts are some of the best apex mounts IMO, especially the bear, wolf, and sabre cat

Thanks for a great month! As someone who now only subs to ESO+ periodically, it is particularly awesome to get Orsinium — still my favourite DLC all these years later.

It’s surprising they are putting in a mount for free that they sold for crowns so recently, it seems like it would’ve been better to do either a brand new or at least recolored mount, or a much older mount that is not normally available. Some people might just say, “Oh, you can’t please everybody! ZOS gives something for free, and people still complain!” But in this case just as in several other cases recently, a little forethought from ZOS could have avoided even this little negativity around something that is supposed to only be 100% positive.

I already have the Orsinium DLC, the mount (bought for crowns, alias real money) and the pet too (bought for crowns as well). So I'm asking for something instead... I gave money to ZOS and in return now I have a handful of sand in my face...

@ZOS_Kevin : is it correct? is it a fair behavior ?

Even though I already have Orsinium, I appreciate the DLC as a free login reward. It makes me wonder and even kinda hope that maybe they would give a DLC dungeon as a login reward.

There isn't a DLC dungeon as a login reward, but according to one of the website articles they are giving away the Scions of Ithelia dungeon collector's pack for free for all ESO plus members when it launches. And this pack includes the two new dungeons in addition to a mount and pet.

It's listed near the beginning of the March Crown Store showcase.

There doesn't need to be "compensation" for those who have the DLC and mount already (Are you F-in serious??)
The month is stacked with crates, 500e, another mount, riding lessons, gold, Telvar, AP...

FREE for everybody.

I remember many many lackluster months filled with pots, poisons, buff food and maybe one pet as the big thing.
Enjoy these months while they last IMO.

Even if you already own the DLC and mount (I do) you still have about $40(-ish) in free crates?

FWIW there are people who can't afford the DLC, now they get to enjoy it for free and Orsinium is a great DLC too!

Instead of focusing on what you don't get, try celebrating the successes of others a bit more.
You might find yourself feeling a bit happier too.

That isn't directed at any specific person, I just see comments in many threads like "What about meeeeeeeee?" and it isn't something new.

Broaden your focus, celebrate the successes of others.

Given that the other thread has been closed ...

So, what's everyone's opinion on an appropriate timeframe between a crown store item releasing and becoming free? Because as it turns out 6 months is too short for me.
1 year? 3 months? 2 weeks? A day?

Would you be cool with The Super Sugary Sweetroll Mount releasing on March 31st for 3000 Crowns, and then April 1st, surprise, it's a free login reward?

This reward behavior is very very irritating for people that have spent real money to buy something they are giving away for free.
It is a mockery and a slap towards those who buy from the crown store. How can you not understand? It's not so much that I don't get anything on that particular day. It's the fact that I spent real money to buy something a few months ago... which is now being given to everyone as a gift. Do they want to ensure that no one buys anything from the crown store anymore? this is the right way.

A crown store item should never become a free login reward !!! Just change the color, the shape, the tail. Change something, but please don't mock the crown store buyers!!!!

In part of my post you did not quote I also state that my comments were not directed at any specific person, they are a response to a growing sentiment I have seen on here in multiple threads and about multiple situations where <person> did not get what they felt they should due to <reason\situation\sale\giveaway\server downtime, etc, etc, etc>
It was born of frustration.

So if you are asking if you should take it as an offense I would say, that is up to you, because I did not direct my comments at you specifically.

That said, if you feel you were wronged because you spent money on CS item(s) that are now free I would open a ticket to customer service, state your case and see if they will work with you.
I mean, in the retail world many stores will do things like price matching\discounts and such if you buy an item and a week later it goes on sale for a discount.

I guess I just try not to let things like this upset me. I mean, ok here's an example. I began playing ESO right around the time Summerset dropped iirc. Part of the reward for that launch was the Grand Psijic Villa, FREE. I was either new enough that I was unaware, or a bit late enough to the party, that I didn't get it for free.
It now goes on a FOMO sale once a year, but I have no plans to contact support and demand I should be given the house free even though Suummerset was the first chapter I owned.

it seems that for me march only as 30 days..

I already have Orsinium so I would have got a "no reward" login reward anyway, but is this normal?

Edit: restarted the game after a crash, now I have 31 days in march.

A month or so.... but then, I don't buy much of anything in the store anyway.

Your example does not fit. It is not the same thing. I've bought my Psijic Villa and I do not complain for that. Not everyone spends real money to buy intangible assets, but if Zos punishes those who buy their items, nobody will buy things in crown store anymore. I already think I'm a little crazy buying intangible items in a video game, but I'm certainly not crazy enough to continue doing so if I feel cheated. I don't think the policy of making people who buy feel cheated is a good policy.
Of course this is just my humble opinion
And also your example for the items on sale in real world does not fit.... If something that I've bought in crown store for 1000 crowns, tomorrow goes out for 500 crowns... I won't complain. It simply happens. But here we have THREE items (dlc, pet, mount) that I've bought for real money (crowns are real money, because I buy crowns with real money) given for free. In the same month. So either I will not get anything in those days either I will feel cheated for having spent real money unnecessarily. Furthermore, it seems to me that the pet and the mount have been released in CR recently.
