SAVE MY CLASS (Stamden)

Hello All,

This is nothing new but I feel that we need to keep this up if we want change. If you look at PvE content, there are several classes which are seriously underperforming due neglect following the disastrous nerfs from patch 35.

While necro, sorc (stamsorc is great for parsing but not content), nightblade and stamplar are all struggling as dps; I believe that the stamden is the most in need of help. As proof, I submit the latest build guides from Skinny Cheeks:
4wbvnngd0pk1.png

As you can see, Skinny has not updated his build guide for the stamden in nearly a year and a half. Even on youtube it is hard to find a stamden build guide post patch 35 unless it is a PvP build. The class performs so poorly in content that people have pretty much stopped playing it altogether in harder content.

I think that we all agree that when one class becomes irrelevant, it diminishes the game as a whole. When it's five classes (to varying degrees), the long term prospects of the game is on shaky ground.

Stamden is since release the most irrelevant class for PvE DPS in the game. Every class has its phases inbetweenbpatches but never had the Stamina Warden. I wish they would make Warden in general and other "bad dps classes" interesting again.

There’s a sizable change in damage depending on whether you slot an ice staff. I got on my stamden on PTS to try all the latest changes with status effects, hemorrhage is about as strong as before, Winters revenge continues to be a small fraction of damage with anything other than ice staff equipped. But the biggest change is frozen status damage has been massively buffed. Stamden without an ice staff feels even weaker on PTS in comparison.

*Edit* Also charged trait took a big hit, dropping from 365% to 235%, however destruction staff continues to add 100% increase to status proc chance. With charged ice staff equipped there are far more status procs than with charged daggers/greatsword/bow on the PTS

youtube "eso stamina warden pve". 130k+ parses there for current update.

Haven't digged much into this, but it looks like builds are something like:
    2h vMA + Yokeda + Coral + Zaan

You raise a valid point with the builds you mentioned. Yeah, there are two parsing metas present:

2H MA backbar with Rapid Strikes
    or
Wrecking Blow spam for Major Berserk

Both of these work for producing 130k parses because the damage from the Rapid Strikes is so high for the former, and the presence of Major Berserk for the latter. Both are also considered cheesing for dummy parsing and are far less effective in content. Particularly when there is lag or dealing with enemies that move.

To take a better look at how the class is faring in content, take a look at the scores for endgame dps for vSE HM. Here is the dps ranks by class:

    https://www.esologs.com/zone/statistics/17/#class=DPS

Although the metric here is the score and not the actual dps from that class, it gives a good indication of what dps classes are being used for endgame. Do you notice one class that is absent from dps lists? Since most groups can get warden buffs from their healer, stamden dps is so low that their contribution to endgame is little more than as a carry.

Stamina warden is fine for Overland and regular content. But they are bottom tier when it comes to dps (especially outside parsing builds) and can't really hold its place in endgame content as a dps (see above post).

I wonder how accurate a portrayal these metrics are though… especially now it’s magcro changes!

Many have said it. Is this fair ZOS developers? 2 years later? Why have you left the stamina warden, dagger and bow loving hunters, to not be competitive for endgame dps roles among all other classes, simply because you could only think to balance the magicka warden by attempting to lock wardens into ice staves? That wasn’t the correct way for balance.

I still use bow/bow or dagger/2h on my stamden, it was my first alt. Real shame I can’t take them to test out in vtrial HMs due to this.

I hope some day for this game the “play how you want” mantra for ALL game aspects, limited only by skill and practice and mechs knowledge (not gear class and race), will be realised. Because that day hasn’t arrived yet! And a lot of subtle work appears needed to correct all of these errors complied from the years.

I hope someone is reading and taking note. All the end gamers complain because the love the game and want it to stick around and grow, not become locked bored and stale

I had to drop my stamden after 7 years of playing because the class just doesn’t feel good to me anymore. I picked up stamplar and have been enjoying it immensely even despite its own shortcomings.

Very very casual content currently. Just an XP farming setup with Mora Whisper, Slimcraw, Heartlands Conqueror, and Wrathsun.

Just like dropping novas and poking with Jabs.
