Werewolf tanks won't really exist come U41 with the dismantling of Tormentor's functionality (allowed for AOE taunting with a leap, like Werewolf's leap). Now it will only heal you and single target taunt.

Werewolf tanking won't be nearly as viable or fun without it. You'll have to use Tormentor and then leap on each target you want to taunt.

if i were to make a WW tank it would be probably leeching plate + tormentor + oakensoul + 1pc filler

oaken fills in missing buffs on the WW, and your 1 bar anyway

your locked in to the tormentor set to taunt anything, even with the upcoming change

leeching plate will give you nice consistent heal over time

like said though, you will still have to spend extra resources to taunt targets individually once the change to tormentor goes live, and with no chain pull it will make it harder to round up stragglers

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Suppose it all depends what you are tanking. Even with original Tormentor, werewolves were meh to ineffective in most veteran dungeons, including some non-DLC dungeons. And not at all effective in trials.

Tormentor just made it easier to taunt adds. That's it. So making it single target doesn't change much in terms of what a tank does in dungeons. You will still be able to tank the content you previously were as a werewolf tank was more of a tankier DPS anyway.

In PvE ? With Tormentor you could still technically taunt, but you can only taunt one target and on WW you can not use this as a spamable - which is something that tank should do. Taunt as many targets as possible. Also, cost wise, when it comes to werewolf, a taunt cost is huge. The only saving grace that made PvE werewolf tanking bearable was the AOE part, as you could mitigate the huge cost & no ability to spam taunt by simply taunting more than one target.

Next patch PvE WW tank is dead.

As for PvP... I mean don't even try. WW is also dead in PvP. Even if you build very tanky, you are always less tanky than non-ww class.

It’s a pretty meme build, I’m not sure about the WW tank I know but I know personally I’m not gonna give up WW tank just because of the tormentor changes. Not that I run it anymore but I still have the setup. Tormentor + rush of agony or tormentor + TT.
