Hi all,
I am curious about your recent experiences with the dungeon finder. As every long time player probably knows, the tool can be a bit wonky at times. However my friends and I have the feeling that lately it has somehow become noticeably worse. It doesn't seem too bad when you list alone, but the issues arise when listing as a pair or trio.
Don't know what I am talking about? The problems surface most clearly in situations when you'd reasonably expect for something to happen instantly - but it really doesn't. Let me give you two examples I experienced in the last month:
1.: Bringing a tank & heal & DPS (all > CP160) for a normal random dungeon, at Friday evening prime time gaming hours. You'd expect there'd be a single second DPS queued, right? No instant invite however. If I do a little test and ask people in /zone if they are currently listed as DPS for normal random, the answer is yes. Something is awry.
2.: I am tanking a normal Depths of Malatar. One DPS drops out, I relist, we get no replacement for several minutes. I ask a friend if he can list for Malatar. He does. He is not added to the group, neither instantly nor after several more minutes of waiting. What's going on here I wonder?
For me, from a user perspective, these are clear cut cases where something is not working properly and these cases have been increasing in frequency. We are now at the stage where the first dungeon invite of the evening will usually pop without a fuss and every subsequent listing has some sort of issue.
DPS listing instead of the supports sometimes helps. Relogging sometimes does too. Switching character but not role also works occasionally. Switching roles forth and back again, then relisting sometimes does the trick. Pretty spooky.
What are your recent experiences? Have we been especially unlucky or does all this sound familiar? If it does, what workarounds have you found or can you share some insight on the situation?
