Weekly Trial or Arena completed achievement - is this only for veteran?

There are two achievements for completing Weekly Trials or Arenas.

1. Weekly Trial or Arena complete. This requires you to complete a Weekly Trial or Arena. It does not specify if this needs to be normal or veteran.

2. Time Trial or Arena: Weekly. This requires you to complete a Weekly Veteran Trial or Arena within 33 minutes. It clearly states that the Trial or Arena needs to be veteran.

In the case of number 1, it doesn't state that the weekly trial or arena needs to be veteran. So does that mean if you complete whatever the weekly trial or arena is in normal, you get that achievement?

Asking because it doesn't say anywhere on the achievement that it needs to be in veteran. So I am a little confused. I know that if you want to be on the leaderboard, that you need to do in veteran, but if it is just the achievement, does this also need to be in veteran and ZOS forgot to state that in the achievement description?

Also, having never done a Weekly Trial or Arena, do I need to pick up this 'weekly' quest form an NPC? Asking for this weeks Weekly Trial or Arena, which is Dragonstar Arena as I couldn't find any quest NPC's in either Belkarth or Dragonstar Arena giving any Weekly Trial or Arena quests. Is there a prerequisite to getting these quests (such as having done the main zone quest story etc.)?

    Normal will fulfill the requirement.

The weekly trial is listed on the leaderboards tab of the journal, next to achievements. Simply completing the trial during the week is considered doing the weekly trial.

This week's Weekly Trial is Dragonstar Arena. Did a run today but never got the achievement. Was there a quest I was supposed to pick up prior to going in?

No. DSA does not have a quest.

Ok well, did all the arena's, stood in the yellow light at the end (where you get sucked up to get your reward), looted the final chest, but never got any achievement.

Any how I thank thee most kindly good sarahthes for answering my question. :) Though confused I shall remain.

For the acheivement it has to be on vet and the specific arena or trial of the week. No quest needed.

For endeavors any trial (for trial endeavor) or arena (for arena endeavor) works on any difficulty.

Thanks for the reply. If that is the case then that is contrary to what ZOS officially states in their achievement description.

Perhaps ZOS you need to action this?

The Weekly is a leaderboard competition. There is no score for a Normal run, only Veteran. So while the achievement does not explicitly say Veteran, the Weekly being a score competition implies Veteran.

Weekly leaderboards have been veteran since ever, no need to specify "Veteran".

And time achievements have been in veteran since ever too.

So no need to clarify for that one neither.

I wasn't interested in the leaderboards. That was not my question. My question was does the trial or arena for the Weekly Trial or Arena complete achievement, which as far as I am aware doesn't state anything about being on any leaderboard, need to be done in veteran. The achievement description itself doesn't say that it does.

    As such it is misleading.

The achievement clearly states, "Weekly Trial or Arena complete". Not "complete the Weekly Trial or Arena and get onto the leaderboards" or "complete the Weekly Trial or Arena at veteran level".

So all I am asking for is some clarification.

If it is veteran, so be it, but ZOS should state that on their achievement description. They state it in the time achievement, so why not in the non-time focused achievement.

i think it should say veteran if it needs to be veteran. i don't think anyone should have to use an assumption. i've seen this achievement before and i agree that it's confusing

The Weekly is a leaderboard activity, and all leaderboard activities are automatically vet. You don't actually have to succeed at getting on the leaderboard, but the leaderboard is tracking who does the best at that particular trial during that week for an additional prize.

    That's what the weekly is

These achievements are also positively ancient and come from a time when only the three Craglorn trials were available. I'm not sure exactly when the achievements were added, but originally, the three Craglorn trials had no normal mode (as you had to be level 50 to enter Craglorn in the first place), so the distinction between normal and vet may have been nonexistent at the time.
