I love when this song is played when I am in the inn in Davon's port, but I am confused by the the line "when Akatosh slew Lorkhan".

Didn't Trinimac rip out Lorkhans heart?

According to the book,The Monomyth,Akatosh's greatest knight,Trinimac slew and ripped out Lorkhan's heart.

Neither Akatosh or Trinimac could destroy his heart so Akatosh fastened the heart onto Auriel's bow and shot it away.

It landed deep under Red Mountain.

As for the bard who sings......you need to understand that when bards sing, they like to exaggerate what really happened. Bards are famous for exaggerating/lying about the exploit that a famous figure did.

Bards tend to do this in ES 5:Skyrim, where when the player completes most of the Bard's questline, they are given the choice about how to sing about Olaf One EYE. All the choices tend to extremely exaggerate what really happened when Olaf slew Numinex.

It's most likely that the Bard here is exaggerating the role of Akatosh during the murder of Lorkhan.

He did...oddly enough Akatosh is Lorkhan and so technically did partial suicide. Since Akatosh/Lorkhan is the Dragon God and the heart is his allowing it to be used to create Nirn and become the Red Diamond its as if he ripped it out himself.

Akatosh is Lorkhan!? That makes no sense!

Lorkhan is the missing God who was allegedly killed. If Akatosh is Lorkhan, then who is Shor?

In ES Skyrim, you go to Sovngarde and find that Shor is very much active......Shor is the Nord's name for Lorkhan.
