Multiple accounts

Hi I was trying to find the appropriate place for my question im not sure if this is it. I know that alot of people have multiple accounts for ESO. Im wondering is it ok to log into your windows game and your epic games account at the same time. The windows and epic games are both separate accounts and usernames. After logging into both of them can you join as a group and run a random dungeon together? The accounts would not be paired by controls. The 1 account would just stand at the front of the dungeon while the main account runs the dungeon. They would both get rewards of course. I have never done this but would it be ok if I did? I know that other people do but is it ok to do it. THX

multiboxing (running the 2 clients on the same computer at the same time and using software to duplicate presses in both) is considered against ToS

running 2 accounts on 2 completely separate computers is fine (i have 2 desktops on my desk which i do this method sometimes, its quite difficult trying to control both games at the same time with separate keyboard/mouse lol)

You give them a ZoS answer with regards to "multiboxing" after they explicitly say they are not going to multi-box.

Considering he said "not paired by controls", which makes it completely within the terms of service.

What you are describing OP is completely within the ToS, and if I had time, I would find the post at which Gina/Jessica says it is on the forums, hopefully somebody else can help with tracking that down.

So the "NOPE" given by the post I quoted is misinformation and not relevant to what you described as doing in any way.

I will not be controlling them through software programs 1 will be stationary. So I could park 1 at the front of a dungeon and run through dungeon while it stands still? Or I could kill mobs and loot mobs with each account seperately and one at a time?

    Thx for responses so far

It depends what the devs consider "playing" simultaneously.

The examples they specifically gave as ok are when you manually control each account in an alternating manner to trade.

If the second account is standing there but is benefitting from rewards such as the random dungeon XP and the materials that get sent in the mail on completion, or by being able to loot the boss, this is different than an account that sits there for trading/storage purposes.

So it sounds like its ok as long as they arent automated. So I kill mobs and loot as long as they arent automated?

    Yes, you are 100% fine.

The only thing you cannot do is use a single keyboard and mouse and have them simultaneously control both accounts.

You can even be logged into two instances on the same computer, you just have to control them only 1 at a time.

I routinely log into all 3 of my accounts to move stuff around. All 3 resident on the same machine. Easier by far than mailing stuff for sure!

    Hey @Magnarider

Let’s just cut to the chase.

What you’re doing, using two separate accounts on two separate machines, is perfectly fine and will not violate the terms of the game.

Using any form of automation software (to automate the playing of the game) - even using macros - on one or both of the machines would change the situation as these do violate terms.

Hope this helps you out :)

Yes! You can! I log into two accounts just to complete the "Win 2 Duels" Daily or up to 4 accounts to farm specific gear in dungeons. As long you need to move each character one by one is completely fine.

I've done this, quite a while ago, but as I recall if you second account doesn't contribute you won't be able to loot anything, including the final boss. Just talking general loot here, I don't think I tried as part of a pledge or quest so you may be able to reap those rewards. Again, this was quite a while back so it's possible things have changed.

Why do you all keep putting two "different devices"
You can run 1 steam (because you can't start more clients) account, 1 epic account and as many ESO accounts as you want on one PC at the same time. As long as you control each account separately = ALT+TAB between them and as long as your PC can handle it.
(However, you cannot be logged in at the same time with same account on the EU and the NA server.)

ALT+TAB before the final boss and each account must shoot at least once. Then all accounts have loot.

Yup. I did it before the mechanic the pulls players into boss fights was added, but I was wondering if that would resolve the issue. I used to have to sorta leap frog the 2 accounts, controlling one, then the other, through trash. Once at the next boss I would start the fight and maybe do a couple debuffs on one account before finishing off with the other.
