arcanist's skill cost by max/min resource

At first it looked proper, but then since there is hybridization now, it's really just an annoyance.

Why? Because we can max one resource while using another as primary, as long as there is enough recovery.

For example, a beam arcanist in pvp could easily have 20k stamina and 12k magicka, put recovery in magicka and use magicka spammable and stamina DoTs, and the high stamina resource pool would be great as dodge/break free reserve. But because of the max-resource cost, it can't use magicka for burst heal or choose some skills, or risk run out of resource. It'd have been much better if they just give stamina OR magicka morphs and let us choose. The current designs forces us to raise the other resource as a workaround and it wastes a lot of attribute points.

    I think it works out fine if you put all points in either stam or magicka. Stam build is so much better though that hardly anyone uses the magicka build.

    me too but I put all points in stamina for other classes, since stamina is used for dodge/sprint/break free, there is no point having a large magica pool except this arcanist limit

    I am not sure about passives, champion points, morphs, gear or any other factor. I took these screenshots on an empty build except for the one ability in the screenshot and the associated Attrivbute Points

    Runeblades, Herald of the Tome and Abyssal Impact the base damage tooltip was always highest with magicka.

    Running stamina on a magicka toon with magicka recovery is lowering damage output.

    To be honest, these data is really annoying. This is a clear evidence that mag players are significantly advantaged over stamina players. Even stamina-focused skills generate higher output if you put all in your magicka. That is insane.

    (Well, at least I don't know what according to you a magicka toon is apart from some racial passives, though your empty build should not benefit from it, and putting attributes into magicka).

    I would not say signficantly advantaged, stamina still gets the use of more roll dodge, more blocking, longer sprinting (I often fall behind in trials becasue I cant sprint as long).

    Medium armor is also meta right now for DPS and it has stamina passives that does not help magicka users.

    Medium also has more resistance and again benefits stamina users moreso than magicka.

    The top damage builds in game right now are stamina, and stamina arcanist is doing better than magicka. So, if anything the magicka tooltip should be buffed to bring it inline with its stamina counterpart.

    The fact that the magicka version of flail uses crux instead of generating crux is the sole reason to avoid that build.

    Thanks but it's just not affordable unless I equip an ice staff or Stormweaver's Cavort (anyone actually wears that?).


    Can't do damage if I arrive at target area exhausted, get stunned and then immobilized and can't get out. That's instant death.


    What I think would be better is to simply let us choose, like all other classes, one stamina morph and one magicka morph. Some might not be optimal, but it's better than being forced to rebalance attributes.
