is using an alt to list items on guild traders against tos?

I've been thinking of doing this since I don't have enough guild slots on my main to satisfy both trading and raiding needs. I've read through parts of the tos that may be related to it and found nothing, but obviously not the entire document. Maybe there are people who know better tho or maybe it's one of those things that is against the rules but isn't listed

that sounds like just playing a second account.

    not against tos.

I did not mention this (or maybe it was obvious and it still applies the same) and idk if I can edit my post somehow but I'd transfer items to my alt to sell and then transfer the gold back to my main to repeat the cycle of flipping. Any idea if zos would still count that as "playing"?

    Not at all.
The only way I could think of is if that Alt account was bot-driven or something as bots, macros, etc are a no-no.
But if it's you giving items to an Alt account and then listing them using the Alt, moving the gold profits back to your main, etc there's no issue.
Only other thing I can think of is if all your going to do with the Alt is log-on for trading but not spend any other time doing "guild stuff" make sure the guild(s) are ok with it. Most are pretty upfront about reqs like that tho and this is likely a non-issue.

I've thought of doing the same thing you are as all my slots are full and I have an Alt account that could easily start listing stuff for me.
Still on the fence with it, feels like more time than I'm willing to commit right now lol.

that's what i assumed you were doing and it still sounds legit. you're not dealing in real world currencies, sharing accounts, or multiboxing. it's just playing another account (that you own). many of us have more than one.

also, there's a little gear that appears if you cursor over it on the top right of your post if you want to edit.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I have been doing that for many years.

Being able to get more slots for selling is one of the main reasons for starting a second account. It most definitely is not against the TOS.

If you were using the alt account to farm stuff to sell then sending the gold to your main account it might look suspicious to ZOS - like potential gold selling. (Although I assume most gold sellers don't always sell to the same 1 customer). But if you're sending items to the account then sending the gold back they'll be able to see the traffic going in both directions and it will just look like 2 accounts trading stuff, which is allowed whether they're both yours or not.

I agree with checking the guild is ok with it though. Many trading guilds don't have any requirements beyond sales quotas, but there's also multi-purpose guilds with traders and they might not be happy about a space being taken up by an account which will never do anything except trade.

A lot of people are doing that, me included.

You can even have them up and interacting at the same time, as long as you do it manually:
