When did hireling mails stop accumulating?

I logged onto my alt characters today after several days of not logging onto them, and found that the hireling mails had not accumulated, i.e. there were only 5 of these mails (1 day's worth) per character. I know they *used* to accumulate, because I've previously seen multiple sets of 5 hireling mails in my characters' inboxes. So when did this change?

✭✭✭✭✭They've always required logging in-- that is, they've never accumulated if you didn't log in.
The way it used to work was that you got your mails with attachments if you were logged in 24 hours or more after you got your previous mails with attachments-- or, if you'd upgraded the passive, then you could get your mails with attachments if you were logged in 12 hours or more after you got your previous mails with attachments. That meant you could get mails with attachments up to twice each day, but only if you were logged in 12 hours after getting the previous set of mails. If you were logged out of the game for several days or longer, your mails did not continue to come while you were logged in
They changed it so that you now get only one set of mails each day, but if the passive has been upgraded then it's like getting two sets of attachments consolidated into one set of mails. And instead of the mails being sent 12 or 24 hours after the last sending, they are now sent at the server's daily reset time.I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!4 -

✭✭✭✭✭I do that if I'm in such a hurry before reset that I don't even have time to open mails-- log in on a character, immediately log out again, then repeat with each of my other characters, and open all of the mails to take the attachments on my final character.I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!0 -

it would be really nice if they could accumulate though lolplays PC/NA

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (fully filled out with current game), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them
in progress: acquiring mundus stones (currently only have the thief)
