Don’t put leads in hard dlc dungeons nobody is playing

Trying to get the Velothi lead in Scrivener’s Hall, on normal, but have never seen this dungeon listed in GF the last months. Doing the first boss is impossible for me even with pale order, citrus filet, perfected false god and healing pets for my bolting sorc, on normal. Usually get lost trying to find the spell books in the shelves; books which are not very visible. So, please don’t put leads in difficult dungeons which almost nobody is playing.

Any advice for doing nSH solo?

Challenging content and earning things is fun actually.

Ignore the mechanics and burn the bosses.

Bring a companion to heal you.

You say you haven't seen it on the group finder, but have you tried listing it yourself? Be specific and say you're looking for the lead. Try on a day it is a pledge. You've got nothing to lose by trying.

Normally I agree, but it does also suck that for an elder scrolls game you have to rely on other players to even attempt most of the difficult content with any expectations of success.

I think dungeons are fine for leads - as most you can actually solo with a decent solo build & especially with a companion.

Trials on the other hand . . . I've run sunspire > 20 times now specifically since I've started looking for the lead for the dov'rha sabatons. Definitely made easier with the group finder, but damn dude.

Ember and Sharp seem to do a decent job as healers for me, I don't usually ask companions to tank tho

Have you queued for nSH specifically? The Random Normal rewards are there for exactly this reason. To get players into queue so players looking for specific dungeons can get fills. You get your lead (hopefully!) and they get 100K XP and 10 transmutes.

You mean you don't enjoy running ROM 50 times, going through through all those areas and mob packs, waiting for timed spawn mechanics, invulnerable boss phases, and puzzles, just to reach the last boss to maybe have a chance at dropping a lead? I can't think of a better way to spend my time in the game! :P

I queue for Scrivener’s Hall to get Mora's furnishing materials, also the only place to get the glass eyes. It doesn't take that long and I don't play during prime time. It's a pretty hard dungeon. I admit more than a few times I load in and somebody bails. Or they get to first boss and wipes till people start to leave. The last time I was with my daughter, she burned down the first boss mostly by herself. I play a healer and was able to keep her alive.

The people we were with were so clueless they didn't even go after the little guys with the keys.

I have good success with most DLC Dungeons Solo using a tanky Warden with leeching and crimson.

Things take a while to die but, Polar Wind can keep you and your companion healed through lots of mistakes/mechanics.

I soloed it on a stamsorc Master's 2H Brawler build, before I knew anything about the mechanics. The build was something like in this video (build description is at the end):
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_iJn2tF1YM

A less tanky version of the build, tuned for greater single-target damage, is this:

If you happen to have a surplus of Crown Mimic Stones you can also craft a bunch of gear using a motif from there and then decon the gear to get Glass Eyes back.

ESO isn't just another Elder Scrolls game. It's the Elder Scrolls MMO. An MMORPG to be specific. Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. The acronym says it all. Cooperation with other players, character growth and progression, challenging group content and competitive gameplay are all part of the package.

None of this is hidden, no one was tricked into thinking this was Skyrim 2. Most players are here specifically because of these features and there is a vast amount of solo-able content for those who aren't. I know some players want ESO to be solo-able in it's entirety but it's not that type of game is will never be that type of game and has never been advertised as that type of game.

Funny thing is, ZOS has described ESO as "Skyrim with friends" in several reveal streams and regularly emphasizes "play as you want". So I see where the expectations are coming from.

Personally, unless you really don't want or can't play with others, I would queue for it.

I have queued myself in PC/EU quite a bit for this dungeon because it has a (very small) chance of dropping unique (and bound) furnishings and even as a DD it usually pops in 15-20 mins.

It can be soloed but is a slog even if you skip trash as much as possible and build for burning bosses.

But Scrivener’s Hall is one of the more popular dungeons. I def get it quite often when queuing for RND. You just need to queue for it and people going for RND will be grouped with you.

The first boss isn't that much of a trouble either. Even if the rest of the group is clueless about mechanics and have low dps usually I can survive and do all mechs myself (I use Oakensoul HA build with vigor as self-heal on all my chars except 2 arcanists).

I love SH... I tank it about 75% of the time. The other 25% I DPS and pray the tank knows the mechanics and as soon as i see the Tank not stand in the Poison AOE I immediately try and explain he needs to absorb it... If he cannot survive, I swap to tank and then back to DPS lol... Unless the Tank leaves. It is a very heavy Tank Mechanic Dungeon. Just like getting the Spider to the Ice. You cannot survive his enraged hit.

Getting the Scrivener's Hall lead wouldn't be so bad if the drop was guaranteed. I got fairly lucky and got it relatively fast, but I imagine doing a DLC dungeon more than 10 times in a row would be a nightmare.

I would suggest (if you are setting up group finder) that you put in details that you are lead farming, as you don't need to complete the dungeon, just kill the 2 scamps repeatedly to get the keys to open the chests in the secret vault. If someone has the map to show the scamp locations that will make the runs faster too.

How do you derive the game to be soloable in it's entirety from the phrase "Skyrim with friends"?

Besides that, this phrases were always used in specific context, which is clarifying their meaning, as clearly seen in this example:

    https://www.thegamer.com/the-elder-scrolls-online-interview/

Not once zos was willing to remove the multiplayer-structure of eso.

So, wherever this expectations are coming from, it's neither zos nor the game (which always was and ever will be multiplayer).

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

Bring your trial friends to run the dungeon with you or drag randoms with on a healer or tank through the dungeon finder. It's really not that hard to do that if you can't solo the dungeon.

My husband really enjoyed the antiquity system. But he doesn't like dungeons. He doesn't do trials. So he never gets leads and has kinda given up. And even if he does join us for a trial or dungeon a go, the lead drops are not guaranteed...

It sucks that you are forced to do content you have no interest in, over and over again, in order to have a tiny chance of being able to do something that you actually want to do.

I agree Leads should not be in places some players will never go. If you are not a Subscriber or haven't purchased specific DLCs that have the Lead drops you will never get them. I do believe there are some in PVP land too that many people will never acquire because they just won't go there.
