Scribing bringing sorcs a good boost?

It's worth me mentioning that I've played a non-pet sorc as my main for years. I don't have any CP160 dps of other classes yet because my main character is important to me and I play it often. So I don't know what's truly lacking on sorcs in comparison to other classes. But I see a lot of people asking for some kind of changes to support sorcs players more, especially non-pet. Some of these discussions are very recent too.

With that being said, do people not believe that scribing will add to the sorcs utilities and fill the gaps that people feel their build is missing?
I personally believe scribing will begin to level things out for sorcs, yet not "make them good at everything" as the fear seems to be with buffing them too much. What are your thoughts?

It depends on what the abilities unlocked by scribing do.

Most sorc mains are just skeptical at this point with how the class (no pet especially) has been treated for so long.

Sorc's has too many bar space issues currently, so we have to wait and see if the scribing abilities will actually have enough effects or important buffs/debuffs to make it worth slotting them over something else important.

It is possible that the system could fix sorc, but then if the other classes can get the same boost in power from it too, then they get buffed by the same amount leaving sorc in the same state overall even with the boost from the system.

TL//DR: Most sorc mains are waiting to see what the system will actually bring before making a judgment on if it will help the class or not. Too many factors still unknown until we know a lot more about the system/abilities.

1 of my current biggest pain points is rather temporary and more of a nuisance than anything.. that being how to get major prophecy as a stam sorc so it plays well with our minor prophecy. Camo Hunter only works on 1 bar, reducing my healing on back bar AND minor berserk is redundant with Dark Deal. Mag crit pots give me terrible stam sustain, so I'm kinda of SOL.

If they completed hybridization and revamped the OG class minor buffs to be unique from one another, but hybridized, then this wouldn't be an issue.. Or.. if they hybridized potions to give both buffs.. Or.. if we actually had 1 of our 15 skills provide named buffs/debuffs. We have a lot of must have skills and almost none of them do anything in that category. Makes bar space really tight.

    Warden as an example:
    1. Major brutality/sorcery + purge on their sustain skill.
    2. Minor protection + major resolve on their armor skill.
    3. Major breach + minor breach on their delayed burst skill.
    4. Major savagery/prophecy on their passive heal skill.
    5. Minor berserk on their major expedition skill.
    6. Off balance on their spammable skill.
    7. Minor vulnerability on their dot skill.
    8. Major mending from a passive.
    9. Minor maim from a passive (high chance to proc chilled).

Pretty much every Warden pvp build will have these 7 skills, giving 12 "named" effects.

    Sorc will most likely have:
    1. Crystal Weapon/Crystal Frags (n/a)
    2. Haunting Curse (n/a),
    3. Streak (n/a),
    4. Bound Armaments (n/a)
    5. Dark Deal/Exchange (minor force and/or minor berserk)
    6. Crit Surge (major brutality/sorcery)
    7. Hurricane/Boundless Storm (expedition and resolve)

7 skills like Warden, but 4-5 "named" effects.

Rest are flex, but you may see:
    1. 2 bar Matriarch (n/a)
    2. Fury/Wrath (n/a)
    3. Hardened Ward (n/a)
    4. Bound Aegis (minor resolve (vigor trumps this) and minor protection)
    5. Storm Atro ult (major berserk IF someone uses the Synergy)

    5 skills, 2 "named" effects.

2 bar pets take up bar space, but thats not the entire problem because Sorcs get no buffs/debuffs on most of their bread and butter skills making it extremely tight to cover common debuffs/buffs. Ele Sus has helped because that gives major breach, minor maim, and minor vulnerability, but it has also made all Sorc builds feel exactly the same. The only other options are Razor Caltrops, Camo Hunter, Crushing Weapon, and Elusive Mist, but where are you gonna fit these?

So yeah.. If I can scribe a skill with Major Evasion + Major Savagery/Prophecy and/or a skill with Major Breach + Minor Breach or Minor Vulnerability I'm 100% going to try and fit it, but odds are I can only make space for 1 scribed skill.

Scribing will definitely help Sorcs with options as there currently isn't many, but until the bread and butter skills get more bang for their buck, Sorc's will forever feel tight on space and flexibility. This was all fine back when Sorcs has Overload 3rd bar, but they really haven't done anything since removing it to alleviate the inherent design issue baked into the class skills.

Among a billion other things I want improved.. starting with simple changes can help a lot, Major Breach on Haunting Curse and Major Savagery/Prophecy on Bound Armaments, Fury/Wrath, or Streak. Not asking to have 11 effects like the Warden example, but 6-7 between 13 Sorc skills is atrocious.

Unless they throw open all the skills, one single new one won't really be doing so much...... and what if scribing is the reason they don't seriously look at the whole kit?

@Turtle_Bot and @MashmalloMan pretty much nailed it.

Will fully depend on the ability offered.

Will Resto staff scribed ability be capable of a burst heal?

Will Destro staff ability help fill in major breach or major prophecy.

Could sword and board ability give us an alternative to hurricane (an ability many Sorcs run chudan to get rid of because it's just isn't good...)

Scribing could be great for Sorcs. Time will tell.

There's also the soul magic skill line, with potentially more than one grimoire for each line. And perhaps in the future they will add grimoires to class skills lines too, which may help sorcerer especially without undoing any current abilities.
