Daggerfall Covenant Knight Race & Class

Devdarsh

Dears,
First of all I would like to apologize for my English, I believe it is still poor, but I keep learning.

I would like to ask for your ideas for some kind of DC knight, mostly for solo play, but I need something playable - which means I would like to be able solo all world content, including bosses (for PVP and daily dungeons I have another characters).
Why I am asking? I am big TES 3 Morrowind fan and all of my chars are Dunmers, but after few months I want to experience of another alliances. I guess I will not fall in love like I did with EP (while I do not love Nords and Dunmers are the only one reason to keep me there), but still I am going to try. For AD I will do some kind of Frost Mage (Altmer Magicka Warden with frost staff), but I have no idea for DC Knight. On paper, it would be Breton Templar with 2hand sword or mace, but as we know, Breton's passives are all focused on Magicka. Any thoughts guys?
May my problem seems to be stupid but I like to focus on immersion and RP aspects of all my characters and I want to try some Knight & Castle stuff.
Thanks in advance!

If you just want to solo all world content racial passives would not matter much. Just get the Oakensoul Ring and use it with a heavy armor and two handed sword. If you want to look as knightly.

You do not have use the Oakensoul as well. Just a good item for solo content basically.

Seems like the closest thing would be a Redguard stamina templar. Or an Imperial if it really needs to be a white guy. Both are good for stamina classes, medium armour would probably be better than heavy for solo, you can use the outfit station to make it look heavy.

Consider an Orc Templar. The Orsimer are proud members of the Covenant with deep lore and great passives. TES Orcs aren't slobbering barbarians like in other games, they're a proud race of wise warriors. They also tend to be outcasts who aren't immediately trusted, which synergizes well with the wandering hedge knight type of RP that fits with a lot of the quests.

Yea I think this would be cool if you went with an orc character. Like someone mentioned above, TES orcs are very classy and excellent crafters.

You could have an orc knight who crafts his own knights armor, and maybe he’s trying to prove he’s just as good as Bretons and is able to fit in. An orc being a knight champion of high rock and having his own castle would make a great story character, and build-wise it’d be very powerful as a stamina 1-hander! As far as class I’d say Templar or DK.

Racial passives don’t really matter in this game beyond score pushing for endgame content, and even then can be easily ignored. So play any race that you want or don’t mind looking at for an extended time while playing.

With that being said, I’d go with either a Breton or Imperial or Redguard. Class either dragon knight or templar. Me personally I’d lean more towards an Imperial Dragon knight.

Class idea being a Noble Battle Knight (Dragon-Knight) or a Holy Paladin/Crusader (Templar). This sounds about what you are looking for and is something I’ve created myself. It has lots of armor options for customization and with the right sets you can solo most world boss’s. Oakensoul ring being a major boon, but not needed.

I try and cater my characters around a theme myself to be honest. It gives me a sense of satisfaction to be able to pull off a specific theme and still be able to solo world boss’s and still run vet dlc dungeons. With the ability to swap builds on the fly makes this a breeze. Going from a two-handed warrior who can solo most world boss’s, and being able to swap to a tank setup instantly to tank a dungeon, or even a back up pvp centered build is very convenient.

Thank you all for your responses, it is even more than I expected. Orc DK seems to be right choice, but I will try with Orc Templar also and after some levels I then I will decide.

I love my Breton Templar. They are excellent with sustain. Templars being "Holy Knights" or "Paladins" magicka works perfectly for them (mine is magicka).

Here is a picture of my arcanist. He is an "Arcane Knight". He is High Elf though (you could make a Breton Arcanist as well).

Remember that the Outfit system means your looks don't have to match your choice of equipment. And there are costumes like the Lion Guard one that do the work for you.

My solo character uses the Pale Order ring for the heals, since I don’t mind bar-swapping in easy content.

Having Bastian as a companion would fit with DC character as well. He makes a good tank.

    Breton templar with oakensul/pale order.

Breton Templar. You can wear medium armour while on top having the looks of heavy armour.

Just so you know, you can dye outfits in game if you have ESO+. You can dye armor for gold in game. Goto a crafting area and visit a clothing station.

Save your crowns for things you can use all the time vs buying dyes. You will also unlock a lot of dyes in game for doing in game stuff/achievements.

I love his look and his hair. Feels very knight like in a medieval setting. Love him!!

Thanks! I tried with dyes in Outfit Station, but I don't know how to handle with costumes, so finally I decided to use dye from store & costume - "it ain't much but it's honest work" :D

    LOL. I love that meme.

Their are two systems of "outfit" customization.
    • Motifs collected in game/crown store
    • Costumes collected in game/crown store

The Motifs offer greater customiztion in that you can select a chosen piece from your motifs for the desired slot (helm, chest, shoulders, legs, boots, etc)
Motif customization is dyed in game using crown store tokens (dont buy them) or with in game gold.
Outfit customization is dyed in game using the dyes you purchase from crown store (as you did) of for "free" if you have ESO+

    Cool! Glad I could help.

The games systems can be confusing because ZOS tried to monetize a lot of it, vs it being straight forward. But once you figure it out, its not too bad.

I find it helpful to sort the dyes by hue, not rarity. Makes it easier to find that perfect color.

    Ohh @Devdarsh

Also keep in mind that they dyes in the crown store are not unique (as far as I am aware) they can all be had in game through various achievments, so again I would not buy them personally...ESP because they are a one off and not usable again.

IMO, go through your achievement list and look for the "treasure chest" icon. This means there is a reward if you do that achievement. You can then see what is required and see the reward itself, a lot of them are dyes.
