New housing feature?

Anybody got guesses for what the new feature for housing will be later in the year?

I'm not in the housing section that much, but I'd guess having the ability to have your characters as house guests, or additional furnishing slots maybe? Based on what I've seen requested here and there 😅
Give all classes access to a Scribing skill that works like Arcanist beam.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 10 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. Make a self debuff mythic. Literally anything at this point.

    my hopes

    - portal furniture to link houses together?
or two points in the same house.

    - somehow a new house category with more slots like 400/800(as a minimum) instead of the current biggest 350/700.
or just new slots for existing homes.

    - weather changing furniture.
it could be related to Kynareth/Kyne/Khenarthi.

    - a dozen or more gold purchaseable homes in existing zones
staple, classic, and notabli homes if it happens please.
though i especially hope for more classic homes.
like for High isle a classic home similar to Erlibru's cottage from High isle in isobel veloise's intro quest.

    — mannequins would also be amazing. to showcase a specific outfit or costume.

oh your suggestion of having our own characters as houseguests would be awesome.

Waaaay back they announced we would have gardening as a feature in ESO housing.

The most common thing players ask for is item increase limit.

If I had to guess, it's one of those two. Hopefully, we find out soon :)

    More spaces,

    Poseable Houseguests,

    Beds you can lie on

Mannequins and/or Armour and Weapons furnishings..... how do these not exist already????

A sizing tool, let us make your weirdly and totally inconsistently sized structural pieces actually fit together!

More gold purchaseable houses, high slot numbers but smaller houses would be great, let us fill the spaces properly, building plots too please!

A horticulture skill line, let us grow stuff, dig veggie patches, harvest seeds from the world or find them in containers, oh and while you are at it some Planter's with nothing but soil in them too.

Give me a minute....... I can easily come up with more!! 🤣
    When people say to me........
"You're going to regret that in the morning"
I sleep until midday cos I'm a problem solver!

General QoL additions, take the best of what people use addons for. Saving and resetting at least, something else to make it easier to experiment with and handle complex builds.

More customisation, including that weather thing :) also more fine-grained permissions, house music, music boxes, etc. are my personal wishes because they would go a long way towards having better control over my builds as a whole, and it seems they might be interested in that sort of thing since we already got time of day control before (which sadly does not affect light-casting windows... oh well). Speaking of the time of day control, I wish we had more times of day  while it's a wonderful contraption, it skips some of the really really pretty "between time" lighting conditions.

The slots are highly requested but I'd wager since they haven't significantly raised the limit thus far, it would probably be a big technical hurdle to do so, so I'm not holding by breath :( would be very very nice ofc if we could get more slots. But I think the better bet is that we might at some point get some easier and more efficient ways to do those things we always do, like block parts of a house, so we don't spend so many slots doing that. I do hope they read the forums for these because there are a ton of things furnishers customarily "waste" a lot of slots on. Make that bit easier, and just like that we would have free slots to do something else with.

Idk, if we're feeling very hopeful, seen as they are adding customisation to skills via Scribing, maybe we get to "scribe" some custom furnishings too? A lot of demand for that out here to be sure! Make those gables and roof corner pieces you have always wanted :D

Edit: I am also all for the more naturally-behaving houseguests, more houseguests, more animations such as beds you can lie in, and the many other things that regularly come up here that would help make houses look more like the regular game world and not still life portraits.

    Top wishes / necessary:
    • more slots.
    • + option to add slots to existing homes, like making sleek creek 600 slots.
    • +/or at least swap collectible slots for traditional
    • weather control. Not just an aesthetic issue; it's so hard to see when building where it thunderstorms constantly; eye strain is a serious problem.
    • disable NPC path visibility when not actively being edited.
    • options to lock interactives. Example: 1. Lock ALL (as currently implemented), then 2. manually unlock specific items that would be OK for guests to use.
    • more storage - furniture storage and/or deconstruction

    Would be cool:
    • custom-placed portals to travel within the home + ability to port to them from outside (bypass HotLC's load screens); important: NOT with more load screens; the 1-second black screens are fine.
    • alt copies of existing homes, e.g. multiple instances of Moon Sugar Meadow for different builds
    • a "vfx player" - basically some gizmo that can be "attuned" or store visual effects like emotes and play them. Similar to the Constellation Projection Apparatus, just customizable (e.g. I can make it project Soul Crystals of the Returned)
    • harvesting, fishing, even if it's very limited
    • armor & weapon racks + manequins
    • + a whole bunch of specific furnishing item wishes of assets that have been in the game for ages

Nothing too big because it was announced pretty much as a side note so most likely a tool to control the weather and season as it fits the golden road theme where seasons will change summer/autumn/winter/spring. And because we already have a tool to control time of the day. If it isn't that then it could be a garden where you can get flower and mushroom materials. Third option I would say is placeable wayshrine. So many houses are left pretty much unused since the nearest wayshrine is too far away and many people do not like to use addons like bmu or always look for a teleport through guild player list. I hope it is not that since I have just lately bought few crown store houses that are near wayshrines so they will become good guild houses.

More furnishing slots is what we keep wishing for but that will not happen because older gen consoles can't handle it and as long as older gen consoles are supported, no extra furnishing slots most likely. I think there was already a comment from zenimax telling about this and that the furnishing limit is already at the maximum and that they have no plans at the moment in regarding this. So in the far future maybe.

I would LOVE to be able to see my house from the wider gameworld as I've furnished it. I mean, it's almost certainly impossible given how the engine works. But to see, eg Thieves Oasis glowing in the distance from how I've floodlit the statues would deliver the kind of "coming home" thrill that would really make me smile.

What could be such issues to prevent us having this? I think it would fit eso+ membership really nicely to have unlimited furnishing bag just as we have one for materials.

According to ZOS it has something to do with data, data transfer, consoles and whatever.

Personally I think it has to do with housing being a back burner feature of the game and them not wanting to invest resources into something they can not directly monetize (because ESO+ is already required to double furniture slots).

I would also love more slots for pets and houseguests.

I know they said they can't do more pathing, but maybe they can double the slots but keep the pathing the same.
For instance, if you can place 10 at max now and path them all, make that 20 and keep the pathing to only 10 of them.
Not all I place needs to move; they also dind't when it wasn't possible yet. But I really have way to much houseguests, mounts and pets and definitely a shortage of placement options, especiallly because they share slots....

I doh t gardening (ability to grow resources for provisioning or alchemy) would happen…as they’d then need to balance it somehow with other resources too (jewellery, ore, wood).

IMHO the most likely thing is:
Set the weather (in the same way you can set the time of day).

I really hope that it´s more than just weather control, adding wayshrines or a sticker book! When I think about a "feature" then this seems to me - at least I hope so - more than just a quality of life improvement like a sticker book for mere organization. When thinking about a "feature", I imagine that it will allow us to actively do something in the frame of housing - like gardening for example.

Honestly, I don't think anything short of a slot increase would get me very excited at all.

After filling my favorite houses and being unable to add to them whenever anything new came out, and the completely absurd and minuscule limit on being able to place mounts and pets remaining unchanged, I pretty much completely lost interest in investing so much time in housing anymore.

I know it probably won't happen, sadly. But it really is the only thing that would get me interested again.

The only reason I can see people wanting gardening is the cost of columbine.

I cannot get behind it. I don't want more daily chores to do. FFXIV has gardening and having to log in every single day to water your high value plants(they locked leveling your chocobo companion behind an item you almost exclusively get through gardening or buying from a player that gardens) or they die is annoying as heck.

    Just no.

I would love actual nodes to plant but... ONLY if it's like visiting the Dragonguard Sanctum chest: just give me stuff once a day, that I already worked for to unlock. (These would be a great reward for Master Crafter in the various disciplines.) Definitely don't want any minigame.

I'd prefer looting once a week, with the option to keep our plants grown indefinitely so we can simply have them as furniture decor. Especially potted plants.

I want more item limit >> So if it's gardening, I don't care about alchemy ingredients or cooking ingredients. I just want to decorate with new plants.

Here I am sitting.. still waiting for a cozy little home in Seyda Neen. @ZOS_Kevin it would cure my depression.

Other than that, we need companion romance, writ boards, wayshrines, weather control, ability to lay on beds, more rested exp if logged out from a house, bards, gardens to grow herbs, fishing for houses with bodies of water, just more things to do would be nice, houses shouldn't only be display pieces. @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Please consider some suggestions in here, many people wish for Housing 2.0.

I would like gardening simply because you have a real reason to visit your house every now and then and do something there. I wouldn't want to do this as a regular task every day, but I found it nice in Skyrim if you could harvest plants, collect eggs from the chickens or honey from the beehives every now and then. Simply entertaining.
