Alternative to Trade Guilds: Trade Channel

Im absolutely okay with no AH as long as the current system proves to be an equal replacement.

But Im wondering if for the sake of those that dont want to be tied to a Guild for no other reason then to sell items. Or even if they want that but still seek an alternative.

Why not introduce a Trade Channel? This would be a toggleable channel like many others listed in the Options for Chat.

This would allow those not interested/or seeking an alternative to Guild Stores to continue to sell 1 on 1. It would maintain the intended prevention of inflation that would inevitably happen through a Auction House and for larger multi-connected Trade Guilds.

I would actually fully support this. I even submitted similar feedback several times during the beta. My reasoning was more to cut down on Zone spam for people who weren't looking to trade at the moment. However, your reason is just as valid and would go a long way to easing the complaints regarding Guild Stores.

Better yet.. why not make a guild called Traders. Every single person in game could join.. and boom we have a trader channel.

We can join 5 guilds right? Somebody quick and get on this.

:facepalm The point of a Trade Channel would be to avoid Guilds for Trade. As they can be exploited by the same people that would exploit an Auction House.

There is so much that they are going to do

Fixing bugs
making sure PvP is working as intended
fixing the forums {i hope}
Making player and guild housing of some sort {i hope}

Could be a while till they get to that pesky thing we all want.

We may just have to relinquish to the fact that we might have to carve our own path to make some sort of world commerce. I once played a game were we all posted on a forum on a fan site for long term selling. Another game I played had one area they chose in the world were we all met and just advertised our wares.

My point is really we got used to one way of doing things. They may give us a trade channel.. Im pretty sure gold spammers will make our lives miserable in that chat though.

I am personally finding the "Guild Stores" a mute point an auction house for each area may be better as it would stop the current chat channel hawking. The current zone chat is flooded with people trying hawk their wares and the massive gold farmer (account hackers) trying to convince in buying their gold (so they can rip you off later). I doubt even if there was implementation of a trade chat channel, it would help, because people being people wouldn't use it because they wouldn't want to change the channel. I'm not a fan of the guild bank either, as I play pretty much with only my family. I don't under stand why I have to create a guild with loads of people or join one with loads of people. My experience in the past has taught me that usually with the guild it will form a select group of individuals that will participate until they get what they want a then leave. So I'm hoping that ESO will allow anyone to create a "Household" and then purchase a "Household" bank which is similar to a guild bank, but there is no store.

Please let us have a trade channel for the love of GOD! I'm a solo/duo player only and i can't sell anything due to whining community of cry babies on zone chat. and Launch is not even here yet.

How about charging the individual real money for each time they blare their sales pitch across the zone like they do in El Sword? Bet that would curb a few people with their gold farming pitches and annoying over priced sale pitches as well.

1 This isnt about gold spammers.
2 This is about a Trade Channel not another moneysink.
3 If the game had a better means of selling items other then joining a Super Trade Guild. Which takes about 20 percent of whatever you make in the store. People wouldnt be spamming Zone Chat.

Theyre just trying to find a way to make their money without being bogged down by Moneysinks left and right. You dont like it? Turn off Zone Chat.

I have a right to express my opinions just as much as you do. Your advise could be applied to you as well. If you don't like it, then don't visit the forums. Kind of like your suggestion to turn off chat.

We could do very well without any Auction House Or Chat channel by just selling items to NPCs. The drive by those individuals to purchase rare items and amass large stock piles of gold is what fuels the environment for gold farmers and results in accounts being broken into and theft. My point being it is just courtesy to not spam advertisements over the public channel it should be contained in its own channel at the very least. Having a bimonthly bazaar could be another solution. This could be worked into the story line and maybe a good compromise. Wanting to hawk your ware over the public channel is discourteous to those that use it to help other individuals with problems and other such legitimate uses. So charging the individual real money for each time they blare their sales pitch across the zone like they do in El Sword would be a great deterrent in keep the barkers in the proposed trade channel.

I personally don't like large guilds, they tend to turn into clicks of a few individuals that use other individuals to get what they want and leave their remaining members high and dry. They don't give a rats rear to help you, or other such myriad self-centered issues. That is why I have advocated the creation of "Households" which are like small guilds without the guild store. Not everyone or everything has to be about competition or greed.

Except I dont use the forums JUST to interact with others. I use it to gain useful knowledge for the game. Your opinion is that people should stop doing what they feel is their only option outside of forcibly joining a guild to sell their items. Giving these people a Trade Channel could mitigate this. So Im not sure why youre here arguing unless you just like to stir up trouble where ever it is you go.
