    i guess the weirdest part for me was that the server kept reporting maintenance yet when you followed the link it said all was working with no outages. That was bizarre.

    I believe 3 players entered Cyrodiil so ZOS had to switch the forum server to cover the resulting PvP activity.

    Initially this morning, UK time, I found the mobile version worked fine on my android phone but the desktop version on my PCs was down. Later on I couldn't access the forums on my phone either.

    A 15-hour-update while the Vanilla Forum website said there was no update? It was some kind of crash. There's no announcement so far though, what exactly happened. And I'm also not sure if we'll ever get one - and that's fine, as long as there was no data breach concerning user data.

    I had a Maintenance page at first, but then it switched to a 404 error. Couldn't access it from either phone or PC.

    Yesterday Vanilla's server status page mentioned a series of rolling updates affecting all of their sites. They said no site would be down for more than 5 minutes. All I know is that it was a very long 5 minutes.

    In that case I hope that they'll make a timely announcement. A password change could also be reasonable, just in case something happened.

    clearly the silence means they are still scrambling to a. find out what happened. b. decide what to do about it. c. develop a cover story to not tip their hand to whosoever is responsible if it was a hack and slash.

    I'm very happy now that the forums are back. Those past 14 hours of no forums was so sad. I really love the eso forums.

    I'm also glad that the Vanilla forum software got an upgrade.

    It was a vanilla forum upgrade according to the down message. Don't know why this site was hit so hard but when I clicked the link about maintenance it said they were doing maintenance on hyper something or other.

    Anyway, I'm glad it's back up.

    There were different error messages during the day. And the "Bethesda Support" account on Twitter posted they were investigating the issues - took them a few hours until the forum was finally back.

    People watching over the servers at night saw a spider and took a flamethrower to the area. All good now.
