ZOS Please allow for Locking of Potions and Food!

So yes, this is my own Fault! I have Oddly done it twice this past week. Probably rushing emptying my bag. I make a lot of Lingering Health Potions for my Tank., All my Potions say the same thing Essence of Health and I have them at various amounts depending on my usage and depending on if I have emptied my bag. TWICE! I sold them to a Merchant without realizing it! I use Dragon Blood which is not Cheap. I would like Zos to implement a true Qol feature where we can lock Potions and food, so we don't sell them by accident. There are so many different Potions will all the same names it would only make sense to offer this. Just like Locking Armor and Weapons! PCNA Prices are so high it warrants this lol... Cheers!

Thanks!

I second this motion. I've wasted so many stacks of potions that I didn't mean to sell because they look just like the common potions in inventory, that I don't even bother using potions anymore.

I agree! If that's not possible then at the very least color the name of player created potions in green. So we can see at a glance that despite having the same name, our potion is better.

If you do not use the trash function, you can use that as a get around. Assigning items to trash removes them from normal inventory so it won't show up when selling, but you can still use them. Just never use the empty all trash function

Would help so much! Would also like to be able to lock companion gear just so I can see what I want to keep or not

I would like to be able to mark Companion gear as trash so I can easily sell off pieces I don't want.

Honestly, though, we should be able to lock anything in our inventory.

I have also occasionally sold potions that I'd created and wanted to keep. But I usually realize it right away and use the "buy back" tab to recover them. The only problems with that are (1) they don't say "crafted by" when they're on the "buy back" tab, so sometimes I need to buy back multiple stacks of potions with the same name to see which ones were the crafted ones and which were the junk potions; and (2) there's a limit to how many items are listed on the "buy back" tab, and it's a FIFO list-- the older entries get dropped to make room for the newer entries-- so if you don't realize your mistake quickly enough, you won't be able to buy back something you'd meant to keep once it's pushed off of the list.

Being a little selfish about it, I'd just like to lock things as we don't have the option to mark as trash on console!

Only if you notice right away, usually you've sold a bunch of other stuff by then tho

You can if you haven't sold a lot of other things as well. Some players like to select many things at once, then sell or decon all of them in one go, often doing it "automatically" as though in their sleep, because they do it so often and do it very quickly. Once something gets pushed off of the buy-back list, it's gone for good. I forget what the limit is, but 14 comes to mind.

ES:5 had the option to rename items, that be nice to have. I don't see it being a problem since I can rename vanity pets that only I can see, it's the same idea.

I’d like to see this too. My tripots have a bad habit of volunteering themselves for Alchemy Writs. That is admittedly not a world-ending thing but it would be nice to have them locked.

There are workarounds (with and without various add-ons) for this problem when you're on PC. So personally I don't really care if they implement this or not as the workaround I've been using for ages works fine. But..

That doesn't mean it's not a good idea. First of all, consoles don't have access to add-ons. Second, I actually hate having to use addons for features that are (or should be) in the base game. Locking any item in our inventory and prevent it from being sold by accident is definitely one of them. Any add-on I don't need to install is a win in my book.

I think the ability to lock any inventory item would be super useful. I loved that locking was introduced, but am a bit baffled that it wasn't introduced for everything. If I remember rightly (currently away from the game), even furnishings can't be locked which is potentially horrifying given that the buy back feature has a limited number of items if you accidentally sell something.

It would probably be best if it was only locked for selling purposes. If you have it on your bar, it should be able to be used normally. I could see people having them locked and be in a dungeon or PvP, try to use a potion, having a little warning coming up asking them if they're sure, then dying and not being too happy about it.

While I do not make such mistakes as I tend to be deliberate in my actions when interacting with merchants, bankers, and crafting stations, I do understand some players make careless mistakes and need to help of the game developers to protect the players from themselves.

Zenimax has clearly added such self-protection to the game so I see no reason why they would not consider the request at hand.

In the meantime, since it will likely be a while, I suggest slowing down and being careful. There is no reason to rush.

I'd love it if this were added, this would truly be a QOL feature. I'm tired of having to watch out for my real potions in the midst of selling of Bastian's potion spam.

I'd like it just to stop alchemy writs from taking my tripots.

I have to literally run to the bank to deposit them first.
