Best sniper build Cyro CP?

I’m using Alcast’s sniper build, with a wood elf, but it hits almost like a wet noodle.

Any suggestion for a better sniper build, using wild hunt mythic ring?

    Haven't played one myself, but:
    - Make sure you're at least stage 2 vamp for the damage bonus when leaving stealth.
    - Make sure you have the right Mundus. I'd use Lover for extra penetration on any kind of ganker/sniper building for burst damage.
    - Use as many Divine traited pieces of gear as you can afford to.
    - Medium gives crit damage + weapon/spell damage; Light gives crit % + penetration. Pick your weights carefully, especially since craftable sets like Order's Wrath let you choose your weight.

    In terms of sets:
    - I would expect Archer's Mind or Order's Wrath to pair well with something like Swamp Raider or Witch-Knight's Defiance.
    - Master's Bow from Asylum Sanctorium + Poison Injection will give you a big damage boost on the target you're sniping.
    - Vateshran Bow for point-blank snipe does big damage.
    - 1pc Valkyn Skoria monster set (or comparable) for extra pen if you're going to pair it with a Mythic.
    - Mythic: I wouldn't use Wild Hunt. MOAR DAMAGE! Mora's Whispers for extra chance to crit if you have the lorebooks collected on that toon should hit hard. If you don't have enough collected for Mora's to be worthwhile, consider Markyn Ring of Majesty for the extra damage + armor.
    - If you are willing to forego a Mythic, use Balorgh for the massive boost to damage/penetration on ulting. Pair that with the bow ult or a meteor for a big burst.
    - Other gross proc sets: I see archers using Venomous Smite (Western Skyrim) or Scavenger's Demise (Depths of Malatar) pretty often. Venomous is a strong DoT, Scavenger's is a high-tooltip damage proc if they don't dodge it.

Tnx for advice, appreciate it :) But is a proc set a good option when almost everything in sniping depends on killing your opponent in 2-3 sec with only snipe skill and poison injection (or silver shards)? Are such 2 shot kills even possible anymore when playing cp campaigns?

I used the bow ulti against an arcanist, and it hardly made a dent.

How much pen must I have against non-tank 1500+ cp builds in Cyro?

Snipers always hated in wars, but they are part of warfare.

Have played in Cyro since 2014, and even though I love the NB assassin style, I’ve only been a pure sniper maybe an hour or two, all in all, because it’s boring, so with my sniping gear I always end up near flags or switching to raid/ball gear. But I have never hated snipers, gankers or bombers, because they make the game more exciting.

What I kind of “hate”’ are tanks who never get killed while at the same time having relatively strong offensive capabilities. But I just leave them alone instead of being annoyed. War isn’t fair :)

I'd probably steer away from proc sets, but I wanted to list the ones I've seen other people use. Venomous definitely won't 1-tap anyone, but it's still some added pressure. Scavenger's Demise hits hard enough that most non-tanks will want to dodge it (mostly because of its unique and alarming-looking proc visual), which leaves 'em with less stam to block or dodge the rest of your attacks.

I think stacking crit damage and weapon/spell damage is the way to go, with Lover + Balorgh for that extra pen. Prebuff with Evil Hunter, then lead with Poison Injection to proc Master's bow bonus, ult to proc Balorgh, then Snipe + Silver Shards.

So of all the stuff I listed, the build I'd try first would be:
    - Lover Mundus
    - Balorgh Monster (Medium + Light)
    - Order's Wrath body (Medium chest/legs/boots, Light arms/waist)
    - Swamp Raider bow/jewels. Nirnhoned or Sharpened, try both and see which gives better results; infused spell/weapon damage on the enchants
    - Ice Comet ult on backbar to proc Balorgh, with Dawnbreaker on frontbar (for weapon/spell damage bonus from Fighter's Guild passives)

    Frontbar:
    - Snipe (the one that deals poison damage)
    - Silver Shards (for FG + weaving between snipes)
    - Evil Hunter (can prebuff with this so your Silver Shards hit harder for 4-5 seconds)
    - Cloak (assuming you're a NB)
    - Flex spot: maybe NB execute for extra execute damage at range?
    - Dawnbreaker for passives

    Backbar: Master's Bow
    - Poison Injection to proc Master's Bow
    - ... other stuff; major resolve, expedition, vigor, burst heal
    - Ice Comet for Balorgh

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it's about PvP builds.

    Thank you for your understanding

It's a give and take between Penetration and Critical Chance/Dmg. If you have an ability that applies Major Breach, that gives you more than enough and then you focus on doing Crits. As a Nightblade you already gain about 3,000 Armor Pen by attacking someone from the sides or rear. Major Breach gives you another 6k. That's plenty.

My StamBlade has about 2.5k base Pen, + the 3k from Class Passive, but I've built her as a Crit Kitty, so fully buffed she has 50% Crit Chance with 70% extra Critical Damage. (even then sometimes it feels like I only tickle people...)

That’s my experience too, begin to suspect that ESO doesn’t want any NB assassin playstyle in Cyrodiil. I’m fine with that actually, because I enjoy being in raid groups, but created my main as NB in 2014 cause I was hoping that ESO would become a nice stealth game for thieves/assassins. Major disappointment! QQ and self-pity…

I got hit by the absolutely best, over the top one shot gankbow build in a bg the other night. It’s brutally smart & effective, and there’s no way in hell I’m sharing it on the forums.

It was a British guy (I’m on xbox na) who was kind enough to share the build with me when I asked him wt “heck”.

I’ll just say one single shot combines several complementary, devastating effects.

I hope it never becomes popular.

“and there’s no way in hell I’m sharing it on the forums.”

Concur. Dozens of godmode snipers in Cyro will be just as bad as overpowered tanks.

It’s difficult to find the right balance here, because the NB assassin playstyle should be very effective, with lots of practice, but not so powerful that it ruins the balance of the game. Not sure how that can be done.

You guys are just talking about snipe back bar with draugrkin lightning front bar using force pulse. Add on a pen set like shattered fate or spinners or another proc set like winterborn.
This isn't novel. This build is widely known and been around for well over a year.

That’s not the build that hit me. It was one set I often see on bow gank builds combined with another I never see, and another separate component I will not even hint at. It was the combination of effects that really made it stand out, along with high dmg. I fear Ive already said too much. 🤦‍♀️

I'd go with shattered fate five piece and either scavenging proc set or crit damage proc set. Stack evenly both penetration and crit damage.

I'd go with toxic barrage, it super oppressive. Could run deadly as well to boost ur three poison damages.

I run a magplar version and run deadly shattered fate. Only real difference in playstyle is you get cloak, I get mistform. And jbeam. Which honestly makes my build better...imo.

Also consider running oaken for easy openers, always have ur damage buffed with it.

A lot of people, I guess, will now be motivated to do theorycrafting to solve this mystery :)

Except in real Cyrodiil life NB's have the strongest burst damage and the strongest burst heal all at the same time. That's why the NB population in Cyrodiil has exploded in the last few weeks.

By burst, you mean 15% of the life of a tank properly built ? ...
come on, i'm full WD, with Balorg, mother gaze, all golded, markyn, and i barely scratch for 3500 damages the tanks ...
Of course, 2 shooting the noobs with 12000 armor and 22000 hp doesn't count hmm ?

I feel like it has to be scavenging demise with something that makes it so it can't be dodged.... doesn't nb fear go thru block? So snipe with meteor from stealth. That puts scav on way with meteor so they they block for meteor, so then you time fear and boom they die?

Having to wait for meteor ulti to fill up is boring, not a pure sniper build.

ill say the alcast build is incredibly outdated, i dont think new moon acolyte has been used for quite some time

frenzied momentum is OK but only works in combat now, which is not necessarily possible for a ganker since your likely going to be out of combat before launching your attack

an "easier" setup would probably be swamp raider + scavenging demise, with either an oakensoul + monster fill or an arena bow (vateshran for +snipe dmg, master for +dmg to enemy affected by poison arrow, or blackrose bow for additional poison dot on the knockback arrow)

Way of the fire is a pressure set, not burst damage. It’s good for brawling but not going to apply the burst damage that gankers seek.

I’ve toyed with anthelmir’s construct, tarnished and winterborn. Inferno heavy attack into a crushing shock to proc all three in rapid succession. But with three procs you start to lose base damage and the ability to easily reposition and also sustain. Can nix an unprepared 25k health player but most setups will do that too.

Yeah i see it as depending on your playstyle and targets. Wof isn't really a nuke set but combines with something like tarnish as a set that always works and requires no thought to proc. There may also have been more to the whole build but I was skiming a bit.

Don't use Alcast for builds, just about all of them are incredibly outdated these days.

Personally I like oakensoul/4 piece oak father/Construct monster set/Tarnished bow with neck, ring, chest and another body piece on a NB. Tons of fun and puts out lots of damage

I'm built for no-cp and have almost no exp in cp pvp, however, I found that markyn + 1 piece monster that gives dmg + 5 sheer venom + 5 venomous smite + love mundus + double dmg poison with bow front(sharpened) and 2h sword backbar gives immense amount of damage. You wont 1 shot them but I tried builds with tarnished, I wasnt able to kill many people with it since people are usually 30+k hp nowadays. This build gives you dot pressure with poison injection + sheer venom proc + venomous smite proc + poison proc. I shoot people far away lethal arrow + poison injection. If they are close to death I continue, if they arent, I swap target.

Maybe its bad, but I like it.
