Destruction Staff - Penetrating Magic and Elemental Force

These passives seem a bit bland as is compared to others as they do not offer something unique to each element.

Here are some ideas to buff them up a bit.

Penetrating Magic:

Your Destruction Staff abilities ignore X of the enemy's Spell Resistance.
Fire Staves cause your damage over time abilities to ignore a further X Spell Resistance.
Lightning Staves cause your direct damage abilities to ignore a further X Spell Resistance.
Frost Staves cause your Chilled status effect to ignore a further X Spell Resistance.

Elemental Force:

Increases your chance to apply status effects by 100%.
Fire Staves increase the damage of Burning by up to 50% against targets under 100% health.
Lightning Staves cause the Concussed status to fire a bolt of electricity to a nearby enemy dealing X Shock Damage.
Frost Staves increase the damage of your Frost area of effect abilities by 20% against Chilled targets.

    Not that I strongly dislike these ideas but I think I'd rather staff just gets the bow treatment. Meaning that instead of some passives applying only to Destro skills maybe they should just apply to all skills while Destro is equipped.

    Your flame and lightning suggestion, for penetrating magic, are kinda the same as the % bonus already given currently in another passive. I see no real reason to double down?

    Also, another reason why I like my idea better, is because in your Elemental Force bit you really seem to want to empower status effects. I think status effects are already pretty strong in today's meta, already easily accessible with a Destro, and frankly Ele Sus just doesn't need to get any stronger.

    I just went with status effects due to its core effect being status related. The reason I think it is better to focus on elemental types rather than general is to separate the effects of each Destro out from the others.

    For example, the core Elemental Force applies equally to all staves and is as such a general passive. I think this is a bit lame as it doesn’t come with a cost/benefit to picking an alternative element.

    Well. Those were just my personal thoughts. Your ideas are pretty good, and Destro could perhaps use some love.

    The only thing I honestly have a problem with is the Ice Staff thing making AoE frost abilities do 20% more. I just think 20% is a big number, and there's really only one class that's going to benefit.

    I would prefer to get the DK's "Engulfing Flames" debuff on inflicting burned while wearing a flame staff (Have been dreaming for this for a long time).
    Really like your lightning staff idea.
    Frost staves already have minor brittle - this would be the perfect opportunity to finally mention that interaction
