Leaderboards for IA: Solo (Weekly)

I did a solo run of Infinite Archive today, killed the 3rd Tho'at and left with 1 Tread left (did not want to continue). I flipped the hourglass to reset the instance and exited. My score did not get on the leaderboard. I see that there are people with 2nd arc, so mine should be there, right? I'm pretty sure that I entered without a companion (the goal today was a solo run) and did not summon him during the run. What did I do wrong?

I was on the leaderboard once before, but in that case I'm pretty sure I exhausted all threads.

You have to either use the Thread resetting thingy to register the run or consume all of your threads by dying while in combat. Resetting instance does not register the score while you have threads.

What is the "Thread resetting thingy" and where do I find it? I know only about the hourglass.

It's well hidden, took me almost 2 months since release to learn about it's existence:

It’s a circle of threads — makes me think of a musical instrument— back behind the entrance to the archive.

What is the purpose of the instance reset? This is not the first time I’ve seen it cause confusion.

Instance is actually automatically reset if no one is inside for like five minutes. But for Infinite Archive you may want to skip that five minute gap and manually want to reset the instance in an instant, so you can start another run right away. I do this if i get bad visions on first Arc.

The circular thing with runes? I've seen it, and it looked important. I tried to interact with it, but nothing popped. I guess it's active only when you have an unspent thread, right?

    Yes :)

How are the players suppose to know what this thing is for if you cannot interact with it unless you have a thread? Did I miss some tutorial or something?

I have no idea either, I learned this myself only after 2 months of playing archive :)

No matter how we end the run, it should always count as a leaderboard score!

    Yes :)

This is very useful to know, since I've occasionally wanted to reset the IA while I still had threads remaining. Thank you!

So it resets your visions, verses, progress, and threads? The difference is that the circular thread thing posts your score and you can’t go again with that character until after reset?

Thank you for the information! I must agree with other posters — both of these devices should be pointed out and explained in game somehow! I only knew about the thread cutting one from the forum, well, and now the reset!

I’ve read that you can exit for brief periods of time and come back to finish, so I am guessing that is why it doesn’t automatically reset and give you a score when you leave.

Yes, you can exit and get back quickly even when solo. I do it every run since the Goat side portal keeps removing the Steed Mundus stone and I have to go to my armory to reequip the build. I really hope they fix this bug soon.

Just be aware that you must be in the archive at least 5 minutes before you can reset.

Thanks to this topic I just learned something new. Today I had to stop a run suddenly and just exited the game while still in the IA and when I got back I saw it didn’t record my score. I tried again, then had to leave again (darn that real life stuff!) and exited using the hourglass and it still didn’t record my score. So next time if I don’t lose all my threads I know to go to the thread resetting thingy. Thank everyone! 🧙‍♂️

Thanks for the info. Now I know why i've been getting screwed in IA runs lol
Don't say -"Cash Grab" when it is a "Cash Grab" by ZoS. Apparently "Cash Grab" is not PC.
