I wonder if something doesnt thrill you, or you don't see it, or hear it, or play it, or like it, why the comment.

The forums are for both positive and negative feedback. It would be a very skewed conversation if only those that were for a change were allowed to comment.

It's the interest in commenting, when it's poo pooing an idea, a query, a request. Why not let the person have their thread and their moment, given its not constructive commentary.

What harm is done when one person of over a dozen says they personally don't like a thing, but they're fine with having it added for people who do like it?

Of course we could argue if it's neccessary, but many comments in this forum aren're more than personal "yes/no" or "like/dislike" opinions of some kind, without a bigger explanation. We could also call them useless, but I don't see how I'd be bothered by them. If people enjoy making these posts, why take it away from them?

That said, I personally dislike monkeys (spent some time of my childhood at a place where you had to fend them off outside, otherwise they'd steal your things - and monkeys can get extremely violent), but if other people want one as a pet in ESO, it's none of my business :p

Because for the case in point, it's like that for pretty much every comment on threads, and for a post like this one, it's a real drag for the OP of whatever idea or question or thought to just get their idea dismissed, rather than discussed.

Theres no harm in not commenting either, if you haven't anything constructive to add.

No. The beta monkey is unique and totally stands out, and has fire the last 10 years. Keep beta monkey special and don't add any more!

Yeah, I'm strongly opposed to the addition of any more monkey pets. Even the jester monkey should never have been added. The beta monkey is a rare and (should be) unique pet that shouldn't be devalued.

A player may start a thread and make a request but this does not make it their thread or their moment. Once a suggestion is posted everyone is able to agree or disagree that they would like to see it implemented. Negative feedback is as constructive as positive because it shows how much interest there is, or isn't, in the idea.

I am sure everyone appreciates your status symbol monkey and all the effort you made to attain it. I am sure OP will be happy with an inferior monkey.

It's literally one small comment, among a big bunch of positive ones. It's not even attacking OP or OP's idea, it's just a statement that the person doesn't need it personally, but is happy if other people who like it get their wish fulfilled. I don't see any negativity here, and if I had started this thread, I wouldn't be bothered by it.

Now I'd be interested in that OP thinks about this, though. It's their thread, so their opinion should matter, not mine or yours.

I wouldn't mind seeing a white-headed capuchin monkey added as both a pet and part of an organ grinder emote. I'm guessing the emote would drive me nuts because most the instruments do but still wouldn't mind seeing it.

How about a monkey riding a pocket mammoth? How bad of an idea is that.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

there are so many things in ESO that should be unique and today they are no longer, most of the PVE achievements (skins and mounts) should be unique, and today they are no longer due to the fact that there are others exactly similar in the game, so there could be several types of monkey pets, the monkey from the beta will still be there, unique name :)

I want a big donkey slang expletive monkey mount (or armoured gorilla).

It's about time to turn the tide and let me ride on the monkeys back.

Players should be able to attack pets. I don't like monkeys. If the players run with them, then I demand the opportunity to roast them with a fireball, and then freeze and smash them
In fact, I support the proposal to add more pet monkeys. Of course, only if I can realize my magnificent plans for their extermination ;)

Seriously speaking, many players need a pet that will interact with the owner. For example, a squirrel will sometimes climb up its legs and crawl over its body, a monkey will jump on its shoulders and look for fleas on its head ;)

Glad to know I am not the only one that calls it "monkey",. The other I call "bird".

i love the Undaunted Porter Scamp pet.

but the sorcerer summoned pets aren't non combat pets nor monkeys so your comments are confusing

Yep ....it should be no combat pets in town and either one non-combat pet or one Companion out while in town as it is now you can have an entourage to help you block pretty much whatever you want....the "fix" to keep pets away from wayshrines just dosen't work.
