Game shuts off on start up and after logging in. This again??? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Game was working fine a couple days ago when I played. Went to play today and sometimes I cant even get to the log in screen. When I do finally make it to log in screen and type in my password, hit enter, the game shuts off. This has happened in the past so this isnt the first time this has happend (at least 2 other times in the past 10 months to my knowledge). This is a ZeniMax issue.

This was just in the Studio Director’s Letter: ESO’s 2023 Retrospective & the Future ( https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/65265 ):

"In 2023, our #1 priority—besides shipping Necrom and Infinite Archive—was to make the service more stable. The hardware refresh of all game servers finished in 2023, and even though we have some more non-player-facing hardware swaps to go, we are all reaping the benefits of more modern and powerful servers powering ESO’s infrastructure. We also have refined our processes to ensure that updates launch with fewer issues, and for the great majority of situations, we achieved that."

I dont understand 🤷🏻‍♂️ saying that then the next server update on Monday, literally 3 days later, breaks the game for every one on PC (not sure about consoles).🤷🏻‍♂️

I just uninstalled the game and launcher, purged my PC of everything Elder Scrolls Online, restarted my computer and now I am in the process of reinstalling the game again...I will post a update on this thread once I install the game and try to log in again.

It might have something to do with Add-Ons im thinking?? thats a BIG MIGHT I only had one add on that was first person view on my mount that Ive had for atleast 2 years that never was a problem before. But anyways I uninstalled Minion and deleted entire folder, as well as using my file explorer to search for Minion and deleted everything as well as uninstalling it. I also used file explorer to search for Elder Scrolls Online, deleted everything and uninstalled the game + the launcher. This is for reference.

Ok so I just tried to play the game after a fresh install, uninstalled all addons, unintalled Minion, complete ZeniMax and Elder Scrolls Online PURGE from my PC...cant even get to the main menu. When I do get to the main menu I notice the ticker at the bottom of the screen isnt even scrolling across the bottom...its frozen then after about 5 seconds the game shuts off I dont even press anything. THE GAME WAS JUST WORKING A COUPLE DAYS AGO FOR MONTHS!!!! Then this update just updated last night and now the game doesnt even work. So please spare me the "did you update your drivers" and "this is user error" because its not. (very frustrated i just want to play this game! Just bought the expansion and cant even play it.)

Playing on PC here, no issues after yesterday's update, only thing I can think of is maybe check any security/antivirus programs you have aren't blocking ESO, it has happened before.

Have you tried updating your graphics drivers? If the screen is going black after pressing play then crashing, this is often times related to an out of date driver. You can find steps for both AMD and Nvidia under the first section of this article: HERE

If the issue persists, please submit a support ticket with us here so we may investigate the issue further.

Come to find out its the MSI Afterburner / RivaTuner STILL causing this game to crash after 2 years this problem STILL pursists? HOW? Why hasn't this been addressed by now? I dont get it.

Just to confirm, have you been able to resolve these crashes by making changes or disabling MSI Afterburner / RivaTuner ?
