Endless archive: if you won't let us save..

Let us skip arcs. Just let us roll for 5 random visions and skip arc one, for example.

I know that from a financial point of view, the purpose of the game is time sink, which boosts corporate numbers.

But please let us stop wasting time and allow us to skip arcs!

I refuse to go into the timeloop archive because there is no mechanic of saving progress. I have a life outside of ESO. I feel such a mechanism that literally makes me sit there forever for success is a slap in the face. If it is truly infinite, then saved progress is a must.

I guess it all depends on the goal of the encounter. No one can ever "finish" EA, it just goes on forever.

I've never gone past Arc 7, that represents 3 or 4 hours which is the most I can do. But also at that level the trash and the marauders are the real threat and they are tedious to say the least. If you don't have the right visions, its useless.

These days we go to arc 4 and if we have lousy visions, we stop.

But its boring to have to redo arcs 1-2 which don't represent any challenge.

I have all the sets complete, and most of the pieces were gotten from arcs 1-4.

I was excited about it but now I dread spending half a day in there. If they want it to last, they should really implement something to deal with the time issue because once the hype dies down there will be nothing but "this is going to take 6+ hours of my day to do, no thanks".

People complain about difficulty and now the fuzz about the new name. This topic is the real deal. I usually just cant afford to spend half a day... Not to mention bad rng in visions, if I get a shot @ it

One thousand percent. I put aside some vacation time and enjoyed challenging myself in EA at first, but my usual gaming time limits me to somewhere in early to mid-arc 3. And it's barely even challenging yet. So what's the point? Repeating the first two arcs forever and then running out of time is boring.

You know, I was just thinking about this today because they had that official eso twitch stream where they ran EA. And I heard Finn mention something like [I'm paraphrasing here] "You could be doing a quick run and get really good luck with your visions early-on and decide to push and see how far you can get" - well no, because normal people can't cancel real life to play video games all day.

As much as I'd love to call my boss and be like "duuuude I can't come in to work later, I stacked focused efforts 3 times in the first arc and I have to keep going"... that's not reality for most people.

I get that there was this kinda "old school gaming" idea behind [am I required to say IA yet?] EA, but the reality is that the experience is not practical for a lot of players, and the popularity of EA will suffer for it.

    [EDIT for typo].

I heard Finn say that too and just rolled my eyes.

Spent most of yesterday evening in EA having one of those really lucky runs. RNG giving us iron atro and werewolf avatars multiple times. But we both had other commitments and things to do that meant we had to end the run with multiple threads left not long into arc 5.

I haven't spent all that much time in EA and even I'm tired of arc 1. It's close enough to the same every time that's it's really getting old. There are 60 some bosses but I mostly see a much smaller rotation than that. And one trash mob is much another.

I'm just building up some archival funds just in case a lead or furnishing I want turns up at the vendor. That's about it.
