After group finder tool released. Random tools became "nest" of fake role cheaters.

Yesterday, CP130 totally fake tank try to kill our team at the "Vet Arx Corinium".
Our team mate refused to kick role cheater, so I abandon them for the good sake, even I can kill last boss solo.

Unfortunately, group finder tools revealed basic game system flaw of ESO. :s

My playing time Mon-Friday UTC13:00-16:00 [PC-NA] CP over2000 now.
I have [1Tough tank] [1StamSorc-DD] [1Necro-DD] [1Real Healer]
But, I'm Tank main player. Recently I'm doing Healer.

2023/12/21
By the way...Dungeon-Meshi(One of Famous Japanese fantasy story comic book) got finale...
Good-bye "King of Monster Eater".

If I may ask, how exactly did the tank "try to kill" your team?

Also, wouldn't it be possible, that said player had simply no clue what they were supposed to do? Not an entirely unlikely conclusion, given their low amount of CP.

Finally, why bother with trying to kick this player, especially if you could solo the instance anyways?

The solution is easy tho: If you have specific requirements regarding your teammates, don't use the dungeon finder but the group finder. That tool is specifically made for that purpose.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

No taunt, No 1H1S, ignore any of enemy control. Too much fragile.
Let the last boss put in the water zone, and kill other 2DD except me.

Definitely cheater. Or lack of good education contents of ESO.

I noticed fake tank at the first combat, disaster is so predictable.
Maybe I should vote kick at the first combat. Or ZOS must remove quick leaving penalty

I won't comment on the rest, but putting Sellistrix into the water while staying on the dry parts of the room for yourself is the intended mechanic. You don't have to deal with her dmg-shield then.

The safe but slow method is indeed to keep Sellestrix on land. Putting the boss in the water is the faster way to kill her, since it gets rid of her shield. When she then channels the AOEs on the islands, the electrocution damage in the water needs to be outhealed. Since you say the other group members were a tank and two DDs, wasn’t that your job?

How is this any different from what happens with the dungeon finder?
And ZoS continue to ignore this issue, failing to make any attempt to address widespread dissatisfaction with the issue of players signing up for tank and healer roles that they have made no attempt to fulfil.

And no the answer isn't to make your own group if you expect a tank who holds taunt - if you want a group that doesn't have the roles of the finder, make your own group.

To be fair, this just sounds like a clueless tank.

And you didn't even need him. Just finish the content and get over it. No need to overthink and call him a cheater.

Having fake roles can be annoying, especially in vet runs because they go much less smoother than they could have, and in your example if they didn't have a taunt, they were likely faking it, but then again they could also just be a new player not really knowing how things work. In any case, I don't think it has anything to do with the new group finder tool (it's still not quite populated anyway, so I don't think there's much competition between the two), and it's probably just the usual random group issues, to which the answer has always been that if it bothers you then better to go in with a premade/guildie group of players, because expecting things to be a certain way in a random configuration is not going to happen in most cases.

Wont comment on much of the rest but i do have to point out that not all tanks actually run sword and board. Many advanced tanks actually go double staff. Obviously this was not the case here but just something to think about going forward.

It seems as though the other players disagreed. Considering the tank was CP130 it is much more likely they were not fake but inexperienced. CP130 can be obtained within a week of starting ESO.

Queuing for a random group makes it possible for players to be new to the game or the role. An inexperienced tank is not a fake tank.

Aren't you supposed to kill the boss this way? So no shield?

sellistrix is also well known for ignoring taunts, even if you reapply taunts she still sometimes turns and randomly attacks another player in the group, ive seen her run halfway across the area to attack someone regardless how much im taunting

It is how her mechanic works. I’ve spent a lot of time with her and the end boss of darkshade 1 trying to figure out how to taunt without the boss becoming untauntable. Seems like the game forces a taunt to come from a random player for a certain amount of time because you can actually overtaunt those 2 bosses if you spam taunt while they’re attacking another player. Funnily, with ds1, if you taunt then the spinning centurion will target a different random person.

But yes, anyways, if people die to her screaming cone it is never the tank’s fault. Tank can’t do anything about it.

Arx cornium is also a perfectly reasonable dungeon to fake tank since the last boss jumps targets rather often and all the other bosses don’t have any mechanics that’d kill a half decent DPS. Makes more sense to bring 3 or even 4 DPS and burn the dungeon down.

Actually say, I could finish it by solo. But I felt that they need "education" for correct game rule
and mind set as inexperienced ESO player. And, that's mission is not important for me.
(they were speed runner. There's no reason speed running in Vet dungeon. Ignore my advice
through the combat, and go nonsense always.)

2 DD didn't agree with my kick vote. So they accepted current bad situation.
Then, there's no reason to help them.

My decision was justice anyway. And "ZOS" must think this situation more serious.

If people want to go 4DD style for Vet dungeon, then use group finder tool.
    Personally " no thanks" though.

It appears that the majority did not see there was a bad situation. They likely saw it as a new player that was still learning since CP130 is a very new player.

When we queue for a random group we are specifically asking for the randomness which includes the real possibility of having a very new player that is still learning.

Agree. But teaching "bad behavior" for beginner player is also important.
If they regard "fake role" good tactics, then group Trial will become just pile of nonsense.

So, I abandon them for the justice. Helping nonsense speed runners is meaningless.
(Other 2 DD are also bad low skill seed runners.)
