Deleted Character Names Held?

I was considering deleting my level 37 Sorc sometime this week before the next event, I have been putting it off as I've been busy or just not interested in fully playing again. I really want to keep her name and use it on a new character, to make her a necromancer. Problem is, I've read that if a character is above level 10, the name gets held for 60 days. Is this true? I really do not want to lose the name, if I have to hold onto her until class change tokens become a thing, I can but I would really love to make her a Necromancer.

I don't believe that's true. Every time I've deleted a character to remake them, I've been able to reuse the name right away, regardless of the character's original level.

You can always use the acsii table.

It's what I do - the names all look the same for the most part. For instance:

    Combat Medic
    Combât Medic
    Combat Medìc

The game views these as three entirely different names.

Also - if you truly want to know ahead of time:

Make a new toon with any random name, level it past 10 (maybe takes what 20 minutes?) then delete, and see if you can make another with same name that you just deleted.

Hope this is true. Some people are saying et a name change token and do it that way. May do that method just to ensure I get my name quickly.

I might try it and see what the name looks like. I'm not sure I'd like it to much. XD

I've deleted characters and remade them a few times and I've always been able to re-use the name on the same day.

I've never heard that ESO holds character names, and in games I know of which do it the account who had the name can still use it, the idea is to make sure no one else can take it right away - for exactly this reason. It means you can delete a character and take your time re-making them without worrying that someone else will take the name while you're doing it.
