Unlocking Companions Multiple Times

Sharp is kind of long, and Azandar is really grueling.

This is another reason to give us a toggle to skip the unlocking quests. Every set of new Companions have had longer quests than the previous ones. I really hate to see what is coming with the next ones.

Someone who is against them being account wide, what are your reasons for that?

I'd like to see them go account-wide-unlock-ONCE. As someone said up-thread, if they're unlocked in your collections, all characters should be able to use them. I have them all unlocked on my main but not on my alts. On the rare occasion I play an alt, I might decide I need Isobel (tank) and then remember I don't have her.

To unlock her, I would have to go to High Isle, which I haven't started yet with that alt, ride all the way to where that quest is, and do the quest. That breaks storyline immersion for me on that character. Given that ZOS will continue to release companions, I think it's time for everything about them to be account-wide except perhaps rapport, though I'd be okay with that too, even though it wouldn't quite make sense. After all, with AwA, a newly-created alt has apparently already done all the world bosses, delves, many achievements, etc. So "making sense" went out the window a while ago.

Maybe another option might be that once they're unlocked in your collections, the first time you summon them with a new character you trigger their starting quest. You can use them and level them up and stuff but if you want to play through their storyline you still have to do the initial quest.

That is potentially an option for people who like to roleplay.

I think we should have the option to unlock the Companions on all our characters after just one character has completed it. Especially since we now have Account wide achievements and so many things are account wide. We could be given the option to skip this on each character like we can do with the ToT tutorial.

Yes, but this is just one of many things solved by having one, and only one, character per account/realm.
I would have stopped playing through boredom inside 12 months if I only had one character.

I can't say that you are wrong. I sent most of my characters packing almost 2 years ago, and my in-game time is a fraction of what it used to be. Spending has been slashed, too. Tamriel Once means that I only do new stuff on my mains (NA/EU, PC/XBox) rather than making a new character and replaying the game, which I have done more than once.

Still a fan of the game, but there is much less to do here. This year was almost exactly the opposite of fixing that.

i still think this is a gross overexaggeration

there is literally nothing stopping you from replaying the game (questing, killing world bosses and such), except well, you

ive been greatly enjoying the content released this year, way more than other years (blackwood was the lowest point of enjoyment in the game for me content wise and high isle was only marginally better)

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Mirri's unlocker quest is the main reason for me. It has choices affecting the fate of the characters involved in it, which includes her brother. This also affects the dialogue with her at the end of the Blackwood Zone Story in Gideon, being different depending if he dies (see here for dialogue https://en.uesp.net/w/index.php?title=Online:Mirri_Elendis&mobileaction=toggle_view_desktop#Heroes_of_Blackwood)

I wouldn't have a problem with that for those who want it, but so much has already been made account-wide that I strongly feel that any further concessions in that respect must be made optional.

More account wide is better in every aspect in my book:
    - Account wide motif usage so any character with max crafting can do master writs
    - Account wide mount training
    - Account wide crafting research
    - Account wide armory slots and outfit slots

All of that sounds good in my book and it’d be frankly confusing if someone didn’t want that tbh 🤨
