Xbox controller for ESO

I am currently using Xpadder and have a pretty sweet setup going , Still have to have my keyboard for chatting and what not but for basic game play it works really well. I've even broken out the old Logitech wireless keyboard and have HDMI my machine to my 52 inch bedroom tv So it's essentially like playing xbox and with the wireless keyboard I can sit in my recliner and rock out. Anyone else doing this?

I also play with an XBox controller.

I can use it as a cursor, but just use my mouse instead for menus. Trackball mouse so I can sit away from the desk.

We have PC gaming controllers, but have I haven't tried them with ESO, yet. I should run that experiment this weekend.
I know now what I was born to do.

@Sequias What version of windows are you running? And are you using the proper Config and profile? I can send you the config and profile files I use, also it can help to run xpadder as admin IE right click the program and select run as admin . some versions of windows cause grief if you do not. I use version 5.3 of xpadder

There is an addon for Xbox 360 controllers floating around out there somewhere. Here's a link: http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info77-Stratejacket360UI.html

Would you care to share your Xpadder setup? I've tried with one I found attached to a YouTube video from the beta, but I found it a bit too complicated.
I imagine it's tough to avoid that, but at least with combat it would be nice to have a setup that doesn't require several different modifier buttons.

You can copy / paste that into a new xpadder profile and take a look at it, You will probably want to adjust a few buttons around but I came up with this as a simplified way to do everything I want I use my mouse to craft but it can be done without it.
The right bumper selects set 2 so all your combat abilities are on your axyb keys etc Also you need to bind [ to roll dodge This allows me to just click my directional stick to initiate a roll

Hi, thanks for quick answer!! I am using Windows 7, and I am using a wired xbox360 controller. I have done the button mapping in xpadder, and it works well. When I push the buttons or the sticks in windows, the response is ok, it does what it has to do (if i move the left stick, it begins to write WASD letters). But when I get into the game, when I push the buttons (with xpadder opened), it does nothing, it only responses to the keyboard and the mouse. Do not know where could be the problem, because I have seen in the forum that players use it and it works well, so do not know if the problem is in the game, or in te xpadder, or in windows

I have just buy the program, do not know wich version is it.

    Thanks

@Sequias Well I use the free version 5.3 if you have skype or something I might be able to walk you through and see what the problem might be.

I built my PC to replace my entire entertainment system. Even basic cable is obsolete. I sit in my fav chair with my feet on the coffee table and play on my 47" plasma.

I have used Xpadder since September and I'm constantly tweaking my profile. While not entirely perfected, I need to assign more emote buttons. :D

This is my current [WIP] profile.

(oops was doing a search and didn't notice how old this thread was, sorry)

We use an xbox contoller along with an attached mini-keypad, and then a wireless mouse just for the menus. We have to use two programs: JoyToKey and Xbox Wireless Chatpad. It's great to have the PC set up to use our large TV screen in the livingroom and be able to kick back on the couch and play

....except when the up-down-left-right buttons to which we've assigned our active skills decides it wants to play a round of russian roulette and just select at random a spell to cast. I look so ridiculous just standing there recasting runes that haven't even been triggered yet, or healing myself over and over when I'm actually trying to attack! Does anyone else using a controller ever experience this? (maybe we just need a new controller...) I kinda feel bad grouping with anyone because I never know when it's just going to do some random thing and not let me do what needs to be done.
