Guild-led holiday events

GM's and Officers of guilds - What sort of events or contests have you been getting up to recently for your guildies?

I have been hosting some housing and costume contests, as well as today I just launched a Thanksgiving themed event where I started a 'Thanksgiving feast' table, and people can donate food furnishings to add to the table (each food item is an entry ticket) then it will get raffled off after Thanksgiving.

If you're not a GM or officer, but you are in a guild, what sort of events would you like to see over the holidays or just in general?

Honestly I just assumed the OP was asking ahead of time to get ideas for Christmas. I forgot they have Thanksgiving first.

I'm in 2 social guilds so they always have various types of events running. House decorating contests seem to be the big ones, but also character dress-up contests, and guild nights themed around the official events, like ones for running through the Deadlands dungeons during the event.

Yeah ... I meant 'holidays' kind of open, lumping in Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas/other winter holiday events.

If you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, that's cool. No hate. This was just supposed to be a wholesome post lol. It ain't that deep

OP didn’t specify Thanksgiving except in the example of the most current event for their guild. Rather that are asking what other guilds are doing for holidays. That’s a relevant question for all regions and seasons.

One easy event you can do with any holiday would be a house themed decoration contest with a prize. Another easy event, on Easter, you can put “Easter Eggs” in a massive house and have players try to find all of them, with a reward.

Currently, Housing is the one of the only forms of content that gives you any creative freedom on ESO. If we had access to ‘Private Match’ battlegrounds there would be so many more options but we aren’t there yet.

I do something similar like this for Christmas, in which we hide the Heiruna doll around the guild hall :)

Extending that for Easter is a neat idea!

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it's asking the community for assistance.

    Thank you for your understanding

I haven't seen it done in ESO but my guilds in other MMOs would sometimes organise hide and seek events. One player will hide (either in the guild hall or in a specific zone) and give hints on where to find them, and the first person to reach them got a prize.

They also do 'scavenger hunts' where you have to use clues to find a place or NPC and send a screenshot of your character there to get the next clue. That needs more planning from the person setting it up of course, and usually runs over a few days instead of one evening, but it's a fun activity.

I disagree that this is asking for assistance and don't super appreciate of this being moved ... this was simply to make a dialogue for GM's and officers.

There aren't a ton of in-game resources for guild leaders, so we have to create our own and use addons.

I appreciate the responses so far from folks! Hopefully some folks are getting cool ideas out of this!

We do hide 'n seeks but slightly different, I hide objects/pets etc in one of my houses then give cryptic clues to the type of object.

For example for our Halloween Party I hid three non-combat pets, wrote riddles about them and gave the actual pet/runebox/fragments as the prizes!
