It feels a lot like a mix between public dungeons (which I love) and arenas (not so much), with the added bonus I don't have to worry about other people getting to a boss or mobs before me. I can be alone with my thoughts, something I quite like to do (yes, in an MMO). Yes, it takes a while to get plenty of fortunes, but the new furnishings and the possibility of, every now and then, buying rare treasure maps (I nabbed 7 Ancient Daedric pages from EA's Deadlands maps) makes it worth the effort. It's also a good way to test how well I can do with my old (albeit tweaked and not at all ideal) solo build.
There are many problems, though. If other leaderboard places such as arenas don't impose a limit on how many times you can die before the run's over, why should EA have it? Fine, keep the threads for those who like a scored challenge but add an option for a non-scored all-you-can-die version. There are bugged bosses, such as that big cat from MoL, Zashhsjjshsaaagaaah or something. Some of the verses work very poorly: fire orbs more often than not don't give you the synergy to activate them; you're left standing still for no apparent reason after activating the plague skeever, enough time for an AoE to kill you (it happened to me); I'm almost sure that verse that regens your HP whenever your DoT ticks isn't working. As others already mentioned, Gothmau's damage is disproportional when compared to his marauding buddies, even in arc 2. Going with a companion shouldn't be considered as duo, since you can't possibly compare a pile of pixels of limited intelligence with a flesh-and-blood player. Unfortunately, too much is left for RNGeesus and it can get tiresome to keep being offered magicka visions for my stamina character (or vice-versa). Why not make them dual-purpose, buffing whichever resource your toon has in greater amounts?
To sum it up: I like the EA, but it needs improvements. It's a bit sad to see the servers were taken offline outside of the regular maintenance day to fix the leaderboard, but we still have a broken boss after all this time.
the fire orbs when they work are great, but i agree it has problems
the orbs themselves can be damaged by enemies, so anything with a lot of aoe will usually kill the orbs (preventing you from using them, or ending the effect early)
the reason you dont see a synergy is because the synergy has a cooldown, if the orb is say killed by an enemy aoe, it terminates your beam, but your still on synergy cooldown
in an ideal scenario if the beam lasted the full duration, you only have a couple of seconds of downtime before another beam synergy, but if the beam is terminated early because the orb was killed, then you might have 15 seconds of downtime before you can use another orb synergy

Reason i was excited for EA was to get the 50 fragments mount.
The moment i saw how hard it is to get it was GG for me.
The guaranteed fragment drop from completing the daily is great, so you can basically get the mount in 50 days without much effort. The rest of the fragments are pretty rare drops from my own experience, and are the only achievements that I have left to complete.
Thankfully, it appears Ool sells them as part of their rotation, so if your luck is atrocious, you can get it there. Of course, you very well know, when you start buying them and finish, THEN they'll drop like crazy.

I'm holding off on buying any of the fragments until I'm done farming all of my furnishing plans. No sense in wasting currency when I should get a couple of fragment drops along the way.
This is the way. I'm personally waiting till Sunday to buy any of this week's offerings cause I was gonna buy it this morning, did a run, got 2 of them and shifted my plans.
Especially since they continue to drop and you can't do anything with them.
