current group overlayed when not in menu. what causes this?

Occasionally, I get this when leaving group, or in the middle of content which is annoying. I'm playing mostly controller, so not sure if this is something controller specific. Anyone run in to this often, or have a fix for this?

✭✭✭✭This is an old bug that has recurred several times over the past few years.
It happens because of an issue where the menu doesn't properly close.
You should be able to prevent the group pane from showing like that by making sure the Social > Group menu is on "Group Actions" instead of "Current Group." Since there is no pane associated with "Group Actions," it won't show anything when the menu fails to close properly.
I believe it might be related to an issue in housing where permissions get changed when you do not appear to be in the menu because the menu is still (invisibly) on the "Default Visitor Access" option, which cycles through permissions with the left axis stick.1
