Endless Archive antiquity lead drop rate

I've been farming EA for antiquities and just finished obtaining every antiquity lead exactly once. The fact that I didn't get a single duplicate lead along the way makes me wonder about the drop rate for EA leads after you've dug them up the first time. Either the drop rates plummet after the first time, they're bugged, they're curated (which would be a surprise) or I just had some very coincidental rng.

Has anyone managed to obtain a second copy of an EA lead? Is anyone seeing similar patterns in lead drop rates as I am?

I’ve had the same experience of getting one of each with no repeats but I have a couple more to go before I’ve had one of all of them. I assumed they were just well curated.

The drop rate for leads decrease a lot after the first time you get it. The second time is the lowest while the third time seems to be higher again (comparable to first). I know this from trying to complete the codex as far as possible.

I've also gotten all of the gold leads exactly once. I'd say there's definitely something happening there besides pure RNG.

In my personal experience, it seems like you get a big chance for a few drops each day and then it tapers off. My first few runs usually net me a lead or 4, but after that it slows down. As for repeats, I'm not seeing a major drop off except for maybe certain blue drops.

I've gotten a few leads twice already. Excavated all my EA leads two days ago, and have already found a few more in the EA.

But I've been spending a LOT of time in the EA, and I love the minigames/treasure scamps. Which I try to complete all/kill all.

This is the way. Nearly 90% of my leads, if not more have come from these, I think I've gotten less than 5 from any other source.

Far run, one thread, but a scamp spawns? Kill it and risk the run.

All lead drop chances are curated, in a way.

As far as I am aware, you get bonus chance for the first drop and when you do not have anything but green treasure leads.

Even so, I would have thought it more likely to get at least one repeat before getting literally every other lead from the archive. Other people in this thread are having a similar experience too.

Yeah after posting this, I ended up doing another couple of runs through the archive and started getting some repeat leads.

Interestingly, my lead drop rate via the archive seemed to start off relatively high, getting at least one, sometimes more, leads per run and not making it very far. As I began to acquire most of the leads, the drop rates for the ones I was missing seemed to become more infrequent, sometimes going multiple runs before acquiring one (even though I was now able to make it further through the archive so had more chances for a drop).

Now that I've acquired them all once and have started getting repeats, the drop rate seems to have picked up a bit again

Yeah I've noticed that the scamps seem to be giving me the most leads, followed by Tho'at chests, then portals to the unknown, and then finally cycle boss chests. Wasn't sure how anecdotal this was though.

Also, anecdotally, don't pull a me and curse your crappy luck at not getting gold leads while trying to curate our own leads by keeping certain antiquities unfinished. I was trying to force another clothier station thinking I needed 2 leads when I only needed 1 and ran 4 runs in a row cursing my luck only to realize I had finished it in my first run.

Lead drops for me have been overwhelmingly from marauders. I think I got some from the side areas and Tho'at as well, though I stopped doing the side areas once I got the achievement.

The first week of this I got a lot of leads. I completed several of the multi-lead items like the clothing station, the tome etc. I also got one each of the blue, purple and gold currency pouch leads and a bunch of other furnishings.

And since getting each lead once I realised when checking the list today that I haven't got a single one of the leads a second time. Not even the blue currency pouch or other less common than gold leads. As it seemed strange I thought I would see if anyone else had noticed anything similar and see that I am not the only one. Would have liked to at least get a few more pouches of currency and some more of the lights that I had got one of.

The currency does not seem to drop again as in my codex it's 1/1 like other things that only drop once like the purple found leads after you do green>blue and the 10 piece sets from the newer zones.

I finally completed the codex yesterday so yes leads do re-drop, but you gotta beat the mini-games for most of them. Ironically I had 5 Infinite Tomes and nearly 4 Clothing Stations before my final Blue Lead, the Ribcage dropped for it to be 3/3. So it's purely RNG

I thought the codex entries filling up was mostly just to unlock things like furniture in the gold shop.

The only leads that seem to be locked so you can't get them again appear to be for collectibles like mounts and body markings.

Incidentally, the lead that was for sale in the EA shop in week 1 for part of a crafting station (I think the druidic provisioning one) was available to me, even though that is something I already have and the codex is complete at 1 of each piece. Although the dwarven mount leads are not available to me, since I already have that too.

Seems odd that the currency pouches would fall under the once only category.

Notice how the Antique Cipher Vestments and the Archival Fortune Pouch, Grand, both lack the Found: X that the rest of the leads do. This is how I'm guessing they differentiate between repeatable leads and one time finds.

Going through the rest of my codex, it does look like the mount does not have Found: X nor do the body markings, but the crafting stations/tapestries do even if the leads won't appear again.

Oddly enough, I have almost gotten every lead two or three times now. Except for the archival fortune pouches leads, which are the ones I actually would like to get regularly.

I've gotten no leads, I didn't know you could get leads other than the ones you can buy...

I haven't spent all that long in the archive though.

If the display leads addon is correct then there are 22 leads that can be obtained from endless archives, plus 3 more for the currency bags (the fact that those drop through leads is a other discussion)…

So far, according to my achievements, I have looted 92 chests from bosses and 23 from puzzles as well as having killed a few marauders and pilferers.

So far, I have gotten the three currency leads and two purple ones. From 115+ opportunities.

Once again, RNG is ridiculous and rewards terrible.

Do I need ESO+ to get these leads? Please tell me there is a different way to get the clothing station leads. I have done this too many times and I really do not want to do it anymore. This is the worst drop rate, worst farm of any lead I have ever done so far. Please fix the drop rate!

I think the only boss chest I've ever gotten a lead from was Tho'at, all of my leads came from mini-games, GW and a few from Marauders. If you pull all but Tho'at from those 92 it's not too bad.

I too am getting really tired of the endless pain. I have gotten 4 gold leads and 5 purple ones, mostly from the mini-games. The mini-games have gotten a lot harder and I didn't like them in the first place.

I decided I didn't care enough about the achievements to buy the buffs and haven't been doing them, but I'd forgotten about the leads... SIgh.

One thing I noticed was while I got all the leads exactly once and the drop rate seemed reduce to almost nothing, once I started EA on another character, I started getting the gold leads again at a similar rate as before. I almost have all the gold furnishing leads again, and most of the purple ones.

RNG? Who knows. Would be a weird coincidence though.

I'll chime in again and say, be sure to clear out your leads, I usually get stuck at 6 or 7 and then they stop dropping but if I clear the board they start dropping again, I don't know the magic number, but if you're over 5 leads, clean it out.
