Elfbane set glitches when I swap bars

I have elbane on my front bar and it adds 5 seconds to the skills it is suppose to but, I swap to my back bar which does not have elfbane the active skills lose the 5 seconds and then I go back to my front bar and the 5 seconds are no longer even showing on the abilities. The only way to have the 5 second reappear on the skills is to go out of combat and then back into combat. This is an obvious error, but what I don’t know is if elfbane’s 5 seconds should be keeping my abilities buffed even if i swap bars. Also, it would be nice if elfbane traveled to abilities on the back bar like grim focus?
