Hello, I'm from EU PC server TESO. Please give a few minutes to my post, if possible and read to the end. I want to help PVP players improve their life in Cyrodiil.
There are quite a few issues with siege weapons.
It isn't easy to tell when the changes were made, but we know several facts for sure:
1.Damage dealt with siege weapons ignores all resists, but all the buffs for increasing/decreasing the damage remain the same.
The first time I felt the difference in siege weapons damage was in 2021, Q1 (patch 6.3.0).
That was probably the moment siege weapons started ignoring resistances, but this information can't be checked anymore. If we could get an explanation of how this mechanic worked before and which exact changes were made, it would be great. In any case, this situation is not healthy for pvp experience by all means.
The only damage source we’ve ever had which ignored resistances was oblivion damage, but there is no tooltip that tells us siege weapons deal that type of damage and ignore resistances.
Damage done by siege weapons was increased by 68.5% in CP campaigns.
In May 2019, patch 5.0.5, it was mentioned in Patch Notes that in CP campaigns siege weapons were going to deal 30% higher damage. But in fact the difference was much more significant - 68.5% compared to no-CP, which means even before that change was made siege weapons in CP campaigns had a 38.5% damage boost, CP system doesn't offset such a difference in damage taken by a player. It leads to a huge disadvantage for players in CP campaigns, where siege weapons are way too overpowered. Thus, there is stagnation in Cyrodiil. Players refuse to leave their keeps while defending, since siege weapons are just more profitable than fighting enemies.
3.Siege weapons apply debuffs which one cannot track and/or understand the severity.
There is no tooltip in game which would mention the debuffs siege weapons apply on enemies. But they are unique and they stack. For instance, every dot applied by flaming oil cuts off 48% of healing taken, and nearly noone is aware of that, including experienced players. We need more transparency, so that everyone understands how dangerous each type of siege weapons could be.
Considering everything said above, we are hoping to see the following:
1 Damage dealt by siege weapons stops ignoring resistances;
2 Siege weapons damage balances out in CP campaigns compared to non-CP;
3 All the debuffs applied by siege weapons are mentioned in tooltips with value, or they should be equivalent to minor/major debuffs existing in game without stacking.
Kindly yours, Average EU PVP player.
