Why doesn't Major defile from blighted blast bones proc snake in the stars?

I have tested this countless times, and it really cripples my plague cro build. The tool tip reads: applying a major or minor debuff to an enemy applies star venom to them for 4 seconds.

There have been numerous complaints that none of the necromancers' skills/ debuffs/ status effects proc the tool tips of sets. Another example would be elemental succession not being proc'd by blast bones. Any help from the devs on this would be appreciated since necromancer is close to my heart. Hate to see that class suffer in so many ways!

    It's the same reason sorc pets don't proc crit surge.. ZOS detached pets from players in just about every way imaginable. They copy your stats, but for whatever reason, they don't count as actual extensions of us for proccing purposes.

    You can add reasoning like:
    Your Blastbones isn't wearing the set - you are.

    But..Realistically, I think it's an oversight and signifigantly hampers Sorc/Warden/Necro for literally no reason. Pets aren't unique in this game. They don't do anything overtly special in comparison to player casted skills. Everything about them being a pet is a negative, not a positive, the AI is terrible and they can be killed. So adding the fact that they don't proc anything is just another nail in the coffin.

    For all intents and purposes, Necro pets could easily be replaced with non targettable vfx and do the exact same thing as other class skills. Eg. Blastbones is esentially the same thing as Haunting Curse, Scorch, Power of the Light, etc. Skeletal Archer is the same as Venomous Claw... except you can apply Venomous Claw to 20 enemies if you wanted to, Skeletal Archer is capped to 1.

    my counter argument to that is the fact the colossus ulti will proc it but not blast bones....

    Thats the difference between a pet and vfx that looks like a pet.

    Colossus has no health bar, it doesn't copy your buffs directly, it's just a casted ability that has a fancy animation. It's basically DK's Standard of Might, but instead of a Flag, it's a big monster. The flag has no AI, nor does the colossus.

    It's as I described above, there is no reason for pets to not work with procs, it's just technical oversight. They are esentially just visually different abilities with health bars, yet function almost identical to regular skills, in fact worse in most cases due to health and poor AI.

    It's part of why Necro (and pets as a concept) need a hefty balance pass.

    Pets cannot proc sets. For necro, this means both their bread and butter damage (blastbones) AND healing (ghost) skills cannot proc anything (as well as the Arcanist/Archer pets). This is an outdated rule from a long time ago when you could 1 tap someone with things like Viper and Tremorscale. Back then, it made sense, as you didn't want some random Twilight Matriarch coming up to you, hitting you once, and deleting your entire healthbar.

    Proc sets have since gone through a number of changes, and 1 shot proc combos are few and far between. There's really no reason these days that pets shouldn't be able to proc sets.

    They're unkillable, but still have hidden health bars if I were to guess.

    Have you ever summoned betty netch with healing received text on? You will see 10k text pop up as if you healed for 10k, but you didn't. It's their health pool hidden to the player so they can work with sets and procs with the "pet" flag.

    Its very frustrating as well back when necro first came out, I grinded my heart out trying to get elemental succession from maelstrom arena, because the necromancer is the only class that utilizes all the elements in its class skills and I cant even proc the set without crushing shock/ force pulse. But... then the devs nerfed the set into the ground for no reason.
