Crowborne Hunter style page. Another new event style, another terrible drop rate.

Have gotten 0 pages so far, and I have gotten 6-8 golden skulls daily. Also only got 1 or 2 of the fragments for the pet as well (so not good there either).

Why does this keep happening @ZOS_Kevin ? Every time there is an event with a new style they either drop in droves or the droprate is almost nonexistent, and every time we complain and tell about our frustrations with it. There's barely any point in doing the event for the reward because the chance you will get the event things you want is very unlikely. Droprates can be in the middle of those.

Often these new style pages doesn't just have low drop rate, but they also got a daily cooldown, making the drop rate of them even worse.

Since - I think - last year all *new* event Style-Pages or, if there is no new Style, Fragments for a Costume or Memento or something else, only drop once per day, per char.

This changes the moment when the same event starts again and the "former" new Style is replaced by a *newer* new Style, so that the former new Style becomes an old style. Those than do drop without limitations. But, after sometime - I think 2 or 3 years - those Styles are removed from the loottable and put into the Grab-Bag, which you can buy for 2 event-tickets. Only certain things will be kept in the loottables for ever, for example Motifs like the Dremora Motif.

If you do have problems getting newer stuff because of the bad drop rate, I would recommend not to get frustrated and instead wait for next years Witches Festival to get it.

Nevertheless. The drop rates could really be improved, at least a bit. Especially the drops rates from *special* Boxes/Skulls/Bags/Packs etc., which are advertised with *... the special xxx will give you a better chance to get the newer items.*. In case of the Witches Festival it would be the Skull you get for doing the Crow-Boss kill quest.


P.s.:

I got so far nearly every day one Stylepage from the Crowborne style. Only on one day I got nothing. Fragments for the Memento I got 4 so far from the Skulls. But the drop rate is extremly low.

The past 3 days, I got every golden skull. And all the other days I got everything but trial and arena consistently. I only seen 2 page drop, and that's considered lucky.

I don't think I've seen any of the pet fragments. I thought they were only bought for tickets at the impressorio.

I've gotten 2 pages of Crowborne and so so so many pages of dremora (which btw aren't worth anything). The rewards are better from ToT. At least that gives me things I use...

It’s funny, drop rate for all the crap I already have is amazing. Crow hunter stuff I haven’t collected feels like it’s on ESO’s old RNG system.

As of some event earlier this year or last year-- I forget which one-- I gave up worrying about acquiring all of the newest style pages during each event. I still want to collect them all if I can, but I've given up on grinding for them, or trading for the ones I'm missing, or buying the ones I'm missing from guild traders, or giving priority to buying them with tickets after I've bought the fragments for the year's collectibles. I no longer stress about them, and as a result I'm able to better enjoy the events in a (mostly) relaxed state of mind, and I can spend my tickets on other things like the Witches Grab Bag to get any stuff I missed during previous years.

I hate it when event style pages get an absurdly low drop page, and the drop are random even, I got 3 style pages drop for me and all of them were the gloves. completly kills the motivation to put effort in the event at all. The only good thing is that I can look forward to last year when the crownborne style pages will be dropping everywere.

also the drop rate for the spooky netch pet is pretty low I have not seen anyone showing them off yet. says a lot.

I didn't even know they could drop, thought they were for purchase only. Been playing the event since the moment it began, have collected all the gold skulls each day except for trials, no Crowborne drops at all. Have only gotten one pet fragment, for that matter. I would really love to have that little ghost netch, but it doesn't look possible (haven't the gold/crowns to purchase fragments/tickets).

Next year, perhaps.

So far between two accounts averaging eight or nine gold boxes per day, I have gotten all Crowborne Hunter style page drops except for the epaulets.

The Ghost Netch pet fragment drop have been more uncommon in my experience. I think I have had five drops of those so far.

I think I’ve gotten three pages, and one of those was a duplicate. :P

I’m enjoying the event a lot more using it as an excuse to grind out stickerbook items for the zones I don’t usually visit, while getting Ember some decent XP.

7 days gaming since the event started dropped 2 pages for me, and 2 pages for my wife as well.

A cap of 2 new Crowborne Hunter style pages seems to be the standard so far.

I've gotten two Crowborne Hunter pages so far, and curiously neither are from the Crowborne plunder skull. I think one was a World and the other an Incursion. The Crowborne plunder skull so far hasn't given me anything really special.

Kinda crazy. I got absolutely nothing for days except one single fragment and then i randomly got the crazy box with every plus 1 crow style page. Wierd drop rng this year compared to others.

We shouldn't need to wait years to have a moderate chance of getting the event things during the event. Buying the grab-bag is not a solution either because tickets are often already at a demand with the new items being added (with terrible drop rate), so you can't waste tickets on them.

They should just have better drop rates. That's it.

Besides applying a low drop rate ZOS also decided to still include the styles of the 4 previous years (which makes no sense at all - they should have added the older pages to a bag available at the empresario). I have one Crowborne page after 8 days of event because I keeep getting Grave Dancer and Glenmoril Wyrd pages over and over again.

I have gotten a grand total of 1 style page from this event, and I'm averaging about 3 gold boxes a day and 15ish purple boxes. It's more than a little ridiculous.

I have spent a couple of hours each day doing the Alik’r dolmen grind for leveling up a new toon, got probably 20-30 purple boxes there a day and the gold boxes for dolmens, delves, public dungeons, and world bosses.

I have got 2 new style pages and 4 of the netch pieces, 2 of the new runeboxes, and 0 mushrooms. I’m using my tickets to buy netch pieces and just bought all the style pages from traders.

I have got a lot of Apocrypha furnishings, surprisingly. I have a bunch of the purple specimen containers and glass ink jars both green and black, the ink urns both big green and black and the small ones, and the little mortars and pestles both green and black. I guess that’s the only thing keeping from being upset about it.

I used to give out duplicate goodies to guild members during these events, but now if I get any duplicates I end up selling them to make gold to pay for the ones I had to buy from traders. The event is more fun when you get enough of the new stuff to share with others.

Agreed... The entire point of playing during limited time events, is to get the time limited items. Really participating during that event, should always grant you everything that event has to offer. Otherwise why call it an event at all?

In this case, a new style page should have been forced through the crow's yellow skull drop. As doing that quest and doing the crow means you participated in the event quite a bit. This way the droprate would never have been too low or too high. (Maybe allow a rare secondary new style drop through other random skulls)

So far I've only found 3 new style pages, and I've done 5 yellow skulls per day(and many purple). It's just not worth the effort, and feels really bad.

PS: I'd rather too many pages drop, than too few. Don't base droprates on traders but on players.

Edit: I did get 10 netch pieces to drop for myself. And have gotten one of the new momento's.

Gotten Sharp and Isobel up to lvl 20 doing public dungeons mostly. Tend to do an WB, delve, dolmen and group dungeon a day, have gotten 4 pages + 3 duplicates.

I mean the 2x xp makes it worth it for me but i agree with diluting the pool with style pages you can get for 500g from traders was questionable at best. Netch pieces seem to have an even worse drop rate which is just wierd being a purple drop. They are even more expensive in traders most times cause you need 10. Since i got like 8x over what i needed from my special box i had extra. I sold them for about 30k under the going rate cause honestly 50k-60k is highway robbery.

The crowborne styles and netch pieces need a better drop rate. Adding the previous years' maps and style pages to the gold skull loot pool just creates the illusion of giving good drops. Move past year styles to the purple skulls. And increase drop chances so that players who are getting the gold skulls everyday have a good chance to get all the new styles. ZOS is just making their events too grindy and unpleasant.

Well, this would be good. But sadly I am sure that removing older things after only one year and increasing drop-rates for the new stuff won't happen. Why? Simply because of two reasons:

1. If the devs would empty out the loottables players would get stuff to fast and therefore would stop logging into the game after they got all what they wanted. To keep players - more or less - motivated to login, they balanced the chances and filled up the loottables in a way that certain loot is only given at a certain interval/ratio.
2. Last year the devs changed how *new* Style Pages from events are handled loot wise. They made it so that players can only get ONE (1) page PER DAY and PER ACCOUNT! They did that because - as mentioned above - players got everything way to fast before and weren't logging into the game often enough during events. From an economic point of view that is not a good thing .

But still. As far as I can tell from what the devs did within the last 2 years they did make some changes. Those changes are even along the things you described above.

What did they do?

As far as I am aware they did the following things:

1. The limitation of one page per day, per account is lifted when the same event happens again and a *new* style is introduced, which will take the place of the former new style. With that the pages of the former new style will drop with a higher chance and players will be able to get them faster and easier.
2. In addition to that, after a certain time frame - I think its something around 2 years - certain style pages and also other stuff is removed from the loottable of event-boxes/bags/sacks/etc. and put into the 2-ticket Grab-Bag. That means that an Item like the new Crowborne Style will stay in the loottable for this year (2023), next year (2024) and the following year (2025), but should be moved the year after (in 2026) into the Grab-Bag.
3. Also the devs introduced *special* containers for some events, which do have a higher chance to drop the *new* style pages and the other new stuff. For example for this years Witches Festival its the "The Crowborne Horror Dremora Plunder Skull" (or what it is called).

If this is what its like, I would find it ok. Because, newer players and players who missed out on getting the stuff during its release because of the drop limitation, will have a better chance to get it in the following years WITHOUT the need to spent event-tickets for the grab-bag.

I collected 3 pages to this moment. I've been doing trials, RNDs, WBs and delves every day; sometimes on multiple characters.

Since this always was the case, my only advice is to ignore these drops. If you are a completionist, buy the style pages from guild traders or with event tickets. Personally, I stopped caring about this gambling/gacha-style nonsense long time ago. Now I spend almost all tickets on collecting Indriks and on Grab Bags.
