So U40 removed a bunch of buff effects from pets like the Clannfear, Twilight, and Bear to where they are ignored from auto-target effects and some intentionally aimed effects like Blessing of Protection/Combat Prayer no longer heals pets and doesn't grant them Minor Resolve or Minor Berserk anymore.

It also seems to have added Companions as legitimate targets for many auto-target buffs like Warden's Frost Cloak gaining Major Resolve and Dragon Knight's Molten Weapon gaining Major Brutality/Sorcery with a sick new body engulfed in flames. I just want to make sure this isn't a bug before I add this data to the companion guide, in case you decide to undo it.

im pretty sure companions accepted aoe player buffs (such as wardens frost cloak) before the patch

i dont remember about the dk buff though, i thought it did but it only affected their weapons so this might be a visual bug

Yeah basically what was happening was that pets were taking buffs specifically in trials, it made it really hard to buff your team properly so yes they removed that.

I'm curious why they didn't make it group only function though, if I'm out solo there aren't many heals I can do that can target my own pets. Blessing of Protection is one of those few I could use on the Scamp, Clannfear, or Tormentor if I aimed it directly at them as they are ignored by all smart target heals. They're vulnerable solo because they don't get the immune to damage functionality even in dungeons or arena because I'm alone.

pets dont get immune to dmg functionality in groups either, it really depends on how the enemy attack is coded if its allowed to dmg pets

for example if you are doing castle thorn dungeon, sorc pets will never take dmg from her bat swarm ability, regardless if you are grouped or solo because its coded that way

bat swarm does dmg companions though which makes them less than useless in that fight lol
