Thinking About Returning to ESO...BUT

I'd like to see πˆπ… ESO has improved, but I don't like the idea of paying money to find out. Has the game improved since its release, or is it still broken and poorly maintained???

I see they finally fixed the game client. It now unpacks and fully installs the game correctly, but is ESO worth paying the sub to play?

Thanks for any and all advice! πŸ‘πŸ‘

    Welcome back!

As someone who also quit at release, and came back years later. Yes, the game is worth it. Even if only playing through all the new content once. If you want to pay for it is up to you though, personally I have been an ESO+ sub for years now.

But I'm here to stay, as the game is great. (Not saying there aren't any issues, but the game itself is solid)

The most impactful changes from launch are new features:
    -New champion point system
    -Antiquities
    -Justice system(thieves guild/dark brotherhood)
    -Tales of Tribute
    -Jewelry crafting
    -Many new zones and DLC's.

I'm probably forgetting a lot more. But if you have bought ESO in the past, you can log in for free as you do not have to buy the game anymore. And ESO+ isn't mandatory to play.

So just log in and find out. Enjoy!

Since its release??? It will probably be worth sharing when you quit. What year was that?

If you have already bought the game you don't need to subscribe to play, you can just jump in and give it a go

PS: Maintenance is annoying yes, but sometimes it has to happen. All major MMO's have this, as often one of the things they do during maintenance is make separate back-ups of the database(s). And in MMO's players can't be online for that.

You don't have to sub right away, you can just play the game for a bit, since you already own it, and see if how you like it. Even if you start to play more often/seriously, the sub is not a must-have, there are ways to go around the inventory issues from the lack of the craft bag, though it does require a lot of micro management and time. In any case, the game is different, even from a few years ago, there's a lot of quality of life upgrades and improvements, and a lot things that you can do now, especially when it comes to crafting, that you couldn't before. And for the sheer number of activities and play time the game offers, it's absolutely worth it, imo.

They don't rely heavily on microtransactions, all the Crown Store items are cosmetic or convenience items, there's no need to spend any money at all if you don't want to. What good stuff are you referring to?

Still, there's nothing like approaching a game with an open mind, and I suspect that was nothing like approaching a game with an open mind!

I say if your not played since release the game is very very different now.
As other say you don't need sub to try it out.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Improved since release in 2014. Thats no serious question, or?

Played at release, take a longer break and for sure, Eso has improved in many many ways in every contend you would like to play and it is for sure worth playing it again.
    This comment is awesome!

I played since 2014 and I do think it’s a lot of fun. It has its downsides and things that need improving but what game doesn’t. Best thing is you do not need a sub to play but ESO+, in my opinion, is worth it because of the craft bag alone… plus the house space is nice but crafting bag is the huge part.
