Appearance Change Token Question

My elf wants to darken her skin tone just a bit but we don’t want to change any other aspect of her appearance. When you use an appearance change token, does it default to your existing appearance (making minor changes to only one or two things easy) or does it default to more of a blank slate where you have to create your character again from scratch?

It will show your character’s current appearance and you also have the option to show their appearance without collectibles (so, for example, will show the hairstyle you selected on character creation and not the one you bought from the Crown store for instance).

Using an Appearance Change Token takes your character's current in-game appearance for editing. Once you choose to finalize the changes, only then will the token get consumed and the new look will be visible in the Character Selection.

So if you wish to alter only the skin color with the token, you don't need to worry about the other things like hairstyles, head and body shapes, voice, etc.

I suggest going on PTS, if you have the drive space, you get 5500 play crowns and they cost 1 play crown. That way you can view it in-game before trying it on Live. Remember the sliders and selection.

A good suggestion! You can also recreate a character on live a few times if you have an extra character slot, and do be sure to take pictures or screenshots of the sliders! As pointed out, the in-game look can differ in significant ways from the character creation and modification screens.

All complete and worked perfectly. She came up in the race change menu unchanged. I just dropped her clothes, darkened her skin tone a few shades. Looked good, saved and done. In game the results are perfect. Thanks all for the help. :)
