Is queuing as a partial group for battlegrounds possible?

Is queuing as a partial group currently possible for battlegrounds?

We've done it in the past, though not recently. Yesterday we tried 3 times for 30 minutes each to get into a battleground with no success. There were two of us in our group, and in the past when we've entered battlegrounds as a group of 2 we were teamed with 2 other people.

(I realize that whatever is the current situation will probably change with the update at the end of the month, but we were hoping to group for Death Match weekend)

You can que as a duo in the group que, yes.

Que times can be long to begin with. And queing as a duo does limit the combinations you can be paired with-- going fully squared or solo might be faster-- but you can and as a duo.

Hmm my partner and I always queue together but this weekend we're having no luck getting in when queued a a duo. I wonder if there's a problem? We sometimes have a longer wait, but we've only managed to get in once.

Duo queue times can be long, and you're very likely to get placed against a 4-person premade group.

I used to love playing battlegrounds with a buddy, but since the group queue was added it's very largely in favor of the premade teams. Hm, maybe they should test allowing 2-person groups into solo queue

Adding to what others have already mentioned, yes group queue is working.

Some things you should know: Any group queue, no matter if you, or 2-3 others with you; expect 30+ minutes of wait time.

The BG player base continues to dwindle (sadly, as BGs are all I do) and shrink, this rate increases exponentially due to things of this very nature (your thread regarding Q times), where a healthy player base is needed to sustain the functions within this feature or aspect of the game. (Take the removed game modes (New players: there were several modes to choose from back in the day), for BGs as a case and point - not removed for dislike, but removed for player pool consolidation)

As queue times continue to rise, the BG player base will continue shrinking as players seek other features in the game that are less time-consuming; if they don't find other features to capture their interest, there's a risk of losing those players from other aspects of the game as they seek out other game titles, sadly. In return, it affects other areas of the game, ending up with the same predicament. (e. g. harder to find players to do trials and such, low pop Cyrodil, less available items on traders, trader inflation due to lack of resources and increased rarity simply due to less active people in guilds posting items for trade, guilds falling apart for social shrink, etc.)

ZOS will need to continue finding creative ways at addressing population shrink - but there's difficulties within that itself; I'm sure their staffing isn't what it was when capital funds were in a healthier state (fueled mostly by a larger population, with more players spending money, and more time in the crown shop) so a lot of effort gets placed into survival mode, and less on future state mode. (Speculation obviously; but I'm sure there's some level of accuracy within those statements.)

And yep; that got a lot wordier than need be - but I love this game and am passionate about its continued existance. tl;dr version, is the first sentence of this reply.

for BGs specifically queuing as a group of 2 or 3 is very unoptimal, queue as 2 is still better than queue as 3

if your queue as 3, your only waiting on 1 player to fill, which would mean a solo player using the group queue to get into a BG (most likely solo players probably use the solo queue)

if your queue as 2, you can accept either 2 solos, or another group of 2 to fill out which helps for sure as there is more match opportunities, but again it gets tough sometimes because as mentioned a lot of people who tend to solo, will use the solo queue

if you queue as 4, there is no wait on your part except the other 2 teams getting built, if you queue as solo, you can fit into any group that has open space so these options are for the fastest queues
