They should have started this event on the 19th. I and others DO NOT CARE about a Deathmatch weekend. I would have hoped from previous debacles of running an event and coinciding it with a major Update with new content would have discouraged them from repeating that mistake AGAIN and AGAIN. Last time they did this, the login servers were jammed up, and I and many others did not appreciate having to deal with extensive wait times just to get logged in through the login servers. Many people are awaiting the new 'Endless Dungeon' which will be part of the base game and available to everyone, so I expect the servers to get jammed up again with traffic trying to access it, and add that on top of the 'Witches Festival' event is a recipe for constraint on the servers.

They need to do a much better job of maintaining their calendar and STOP dropping content on a seconds notice. I can understand maybe a sliding date/schedule on dropping new content, but there is NO REASON to have a yearly event that has played for so many years on an unknown schedule as well.

If they can give a 'hard date' months in advance for the release of "Endless Dungeon', there is absolutely no reason why they can't give a hard date for 'Witches' Festival' in a reasonable amount of time.

Cool to see a lot of players dressed in their Halloween costumes though.

And there is the announcement. 26th till the 7th.

And I apparently can't tell the difference between a l Wednesday and Thursday on a calendar.

They always launch new content during events. Annoying as it is that's not likely to change

I wonder if they broke something yesterday in the long maintenance and it got pushed back. Seems like a very ZOS thing to do

I’m excited for Witches Festival too — it’s always one of my favorite events, but maybe this schedule makes the most sense with other events this year, including giving a few weeks break since the last event. And if ZOS wants to maintain a Thursday to Tuesday event schedule, this makes a lot more sense then ending on the morning of the 31st!

    Doubtful.
It has been customary for awhile for them to post the Event-related article one week out from the event start.
If they had intended to start the event today, they would have posted the article last Thursday.
Starting the event next week was already the plan, before the maintenance took place.

Well, now that we have a hard date of the 26th for the event, we can now count on having server login issues from the 30th to the 7th. Speaking as a former software developer, I would think by now that they should know they should never introduce two things at once as it is bound to present problems, and introducing two things at once makes it hard to determine which is causing the problem...i.e. server constraints, etc. I guess we can now depend on seeing jammed up login server queues AGAIN!

      Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it's related to an event.

      Thank you for your understanding

Wouldn’t it be helpful to say what category? I mean this one is fairly obvious, but doesn’t it make sense for your team to always state which category you’re moving the thread to?

Did anyone else notice this upcoming event (in the event news for this site) is being touted as the "spoopiest" one ever??! Is that their intended wording, or is that another typo?

With all the misspellings in ESO... it's clear that they never proofread their work! Maybe it IS supposed to be the poopiest Witches Festival!?!

Oops... I didn't look closer before I posted that. Poopiest SHOULD'VE been spoopiest! 😉

Actually... it makes almost no difference. Most people play Battlegrounds like it's deathmatch all the time! Great, when it's a capture the flag or chaos ball... or anything OTHER than DM, as I usually win... because while I'm playing the game mode and scoring points, the other players are wasting time killing each other!! 😆

And there are plenty of people who love DM weekends. Let's not paint with such a broad brush.

If I remember correctly, it was a typo at some point (2017?) but had been done on purpose since then.... because it's funny.

Also to be proactive about this now, yes we know "spoopy" is used in the text. No, it is not a typo. It's an internet meme and our content writers really like the meme.
