PvP keep as a home.

So this is just an idea but I think this home would probably be one of the most purchased homes if made correctly.

I would suggest a home keep with full PvP enabled as a home. Alliance guards (PvP turned on and off, alliance of guards changeable by the owner by a home steward) destroyable walls and doors of course with capture banners inside. the ability to place down working siege. (I don’t think players would mind sacrificing some siege weapons and repair kits in a home) the owner could of course go to the home steward after any encounter and reset the home it’s original setting. This wouldn’t strictly be a home for decorating but of course you would be able to add your own furnishings (non destroyable) to add your own touch to the keep. Just no furnishings on destroyable areas of course. (Simply put barriers on destroyable sections like we have near the entrance of our homes doors)

The reason I say this might become the most purchasable home is there are tons of guilds out there that are 1 afraid of PvP, 2 trying to learn PvP and teach new members and such a home would be a great controlled setting to teach new players without the risk running into much more powerful zergs. I can also see this being used for many guild events. No ap would be given for kills in the home of course but this would be the most thrilling home ever made. Instance of 24 players in a home allows for 2 full groups to enter the home. There are obviously some extra stuff the devs could implement but I bet this home would be a must have for any serious guild.

This has been asked for many times. They don't want to split the remaining PvP population any further.

Battlegrounds are dead except for the same 30 players every day that you get matched with
Cyrodiil is dead except for the night capping cringe faction that makes it impossible to win
IC has always been dead except for Mayhem

Just accept the fact that ZOS doesn't want to put development resources into PvP. There's been plenty of opportunity for innovation year after year but instead they choose to build card games, endless dungeons, etc.

i think group duels or a tutorial area somewhere would be better than a house. and i really doubt this would be "one of the most purchased homes".

where would this house be if it got made?

alliance guards in a house sounds like they'd be target dummies that attack you. they'd be doing even more than what special collectibles do when they're on a path.
special collectibles are the only furnishings that can move so it would likely be something like that.

and we can only have 10 special collectibles in a notable house, but with the extra stuff perhaps it'd be less.

The guards would be part of the house placed in the same places they are in actual cyrodil. As for where I think Gold Coast would be suitable. You don’t need to own a dlc to access homes in a zone

I like this a lot and I would love to have that.
But from a population perspective "privatizing" PvP could drain the player pool for public PvP more and create problems there. I guess it is debatable whether the public PvP is worth saving anyway. Maybe this will also have the opposite effect by getting more people into PvP, as you speculate.

I believe it would get more people into PvP because it would give them a more controlled environment to learn the ins and out. Test builds for PvP in smaller scale environments. Learn mechanics and strategies.

While it is learnable in cyro many players are intimidated or don’t have a dedicated PvP guild yet so this would be a great learning tool and in general a pretty cool looking house too

So... Battlehorn Castle? Just west of Chorrol.

Edit: Sorry, that comment makes it sound like I'm saying it already exists. Not so, I support the idea and I've also wanted to see Battlehorn Castle brought to ESO. It was one of my favorite places/homes in ESIV.

Sure u can have one as a home but it would not be a PvP area, it would just be a regular player home that resembles a Keep from PvP.

Maybe a proper Guild House with a section devoted to PVP training.....

Basically I'm just begging for a purchasable dedicated Guild Hall again!! 😥

While it’s a great idea, it’s also extremely ambitious, to say the least.

There is only one PvP instanced area that is Cyrodiil, I can’t imagine that having multiple player houses as PvP instanced zones would work well performance-wise. Like maybe hundreds.

Didn’t the Elinhir house have to have its switches deactivated for a time because one house was flipping the switches in another? I can imagine what other nightmares would occur with actual full-scale PvP in homes.

Guilds who don’t want to actively go into cyrodil or battlegrounds, ic etc could host their own PvP nights in the home with their own rules and such. I guarantee this home would be bought by thousands of guilds.

Also if zenimax wanted to be very very greedy. They could make 3 PvP keep homes. One for each alliance just as they did when they first released housing. One alliance keep home styled in the style of each alliance.

Wildstar had a thing called "warplot" which was pvp version of housing. However by the time I myself got into pvp in that game that concept already had flopped hard and was never done so I don't know much about it.

Sorry, but this complaint makes me laugh every time. How dare those people on the west coast be able to PVP after I go to bed!

But I do agree with you on all the other points. PVP does feel severely neglected.

It's more about players in a non-NA time zone on NA server (or non-EU time zone on EU server) PvDooring all night with no one to stop them because the server is asleep.

The region the server is in determines the server's peak times and asleep times, so none of this "well not everyone lives in the same time zone" nonsense I hear people say to argue that overnight PvDooring is ok.

But yes PvP is wholly neglected.

not everyone lives in the americas and Europe.
people in asia and oceania also play eso. there are plenty of Australians in my guilds.
and there aren't asia or oceania servers.

"nightcapping" is fine because it doesn't exist. it isn't night for everyone when it's night for you and people have friends all over the world so europeans playing on the na servers might be there because of that. or they're simply playing there because they want to.

@LunaFlora Completely agree. One of my guilds is a decent mix of NA and Australia, with the Aussies being 5-8 hours behind. So when its 9:00 pm my time, its 1:00-4:00 pm their time. Either ban people not in North America from using the NA servers, and further diminish your game population, or realize that PVP is, in fact, a 24 hour game.

Oh, and who knew that everyone outside the NA time zone is always a member of the enemy alliance, whatever that alliance may be. LOL

Think y’all are getting a bit off topic haha.

Remember this post is about a special instanced PvP home. Each home acting as an individual cyrodil keep that is editable by the owner to be any alliance they choose. This would allow for guilds to host individual internal PvP nights without having to deal with elite PvP guilds in cyrodil. (Again no ap id gained in the homes it’s purely for fun) allows for training in a safer environment for newer players or players just deciding to get into PvP etc.

While it may indeed split the existing PvP population the population is just going to keep getting lower with every year they neglect PvP. We have had the same map since launch with only minor alterations. Battlegrounds are a joke and ic is strictly a gank zone. Honestly something needs to happen whether it’s a new map new ranks and such but for now I do think being able to create your own mini PvP experience in a home would be very fun. Guilds could host guild vs guild events without having to contend with other PvP zergs and inexperienced players can get their PvP experience in a smaller controlled environment hosted by their own guild in the comfort of their own home.

"Night" is determined by the server region not the player's region. We don't have a singular server for the world. When servers are divided among regions the prime and night times are established.

No there are no oceania servers, which means players in those regions are nightcapping and PvDooring gaining lots of points for their alliance with no resistance. And that's what happens because oceania players aren't evenly split between the three alliances.

If an NA PvP guild decided to play on EU servers, running around capping everything while EU was asleep, there would understandably be complaints, or an EU guild capping on NA servers while everyone was at work or school. Oceania doesn't have the option to play on a server in their own time zone but that doesn't mean they aren't playing during their server's night time, forced to or not.

I don't even know why oceania doesn't have a server.

Not that it matters one bit for anyone that doesn't play Cyrodiil. This is only a PvP thing and the vast majority of the playerbase doesn't bother with it. It's the main reason PvP is neglected by the devs.

Back on topic, I've wanted a house from a PvP map since housing was introduced. I love the idea of a keep with PvP enabled. It doesn't have to be in Cyrodiil and it doesn't even have to be a keep. What about an old recently re-discovered Imperial colosseum or circus somewhere? Maybe on the outskirts of Craglorn or something. Maybe it was hidden in the mountains but a tremor or magic revealed the path, and the colosseum has a large seating area surrounding the arena and a concourse for crafting stations etc.

I'm actually more excited for something like that now lol.
