Mundus Stone effect questions

The Lover: Reduces damage taken from spells
The Thief: Increases critical chance
The Mage: Increases maximum magicka
The Warrior: Increases power
The Serpent: Increases non-combat health regeneration
The Apprentice: Increases spell penetration
The Atronach: Increases magicka regeneration
The Lady: Increases armor
The Ritual: Increases healing effectiveness
The Shadow: Increases critical strike damage
The Steed: Increases run speed
The Lord: Increases maximum health
The Tower: Increases maximum stamina


So here is my question. Ive read unconfirmed reports on the unofficial forum during the beta that, for example, "The Thief" stone only increases crit chance for melee and not for spells. I havent made it far enough into the game yet to confirm, so im looking for confirmation one way or the other. Also, what levels do you unlock the ability to have more than one mundus stone effect at a time? Thanks.

    Also, does anyone happen to know how much crit you get with the thief mundus stone? Im curious about making a "Divine" trait set of armor to get the most crit possible if it works for casters.

    Has anyone else had trouble with the Mundus Stones i have found lover and Lady stones and have not been able to activate them is it a trick to them? bug? or just me?

    Last I checked, the thief and warrior stones weren't working. Not seen any patch notes that they have been fixed.

    Voluntas, its a well known phasing issue with the servers. Relogging will allow you to click it to gain the buff.

    I've seen gear that affects mundus stone effects as well. I'd like to add some of the detailed info to the wiki page on mundus stones, if anyone with experience can share it'd be very appreciated!

    The thief doesn't work, I have it and neither of my crit % has been raised. I run with inner light which gives me 17% and thats all i have currently.

    I tested the Thief as well and no increase to my spell or weapon crit. Probably gonna stick to apprentice till it gets fixed.

    Quick question does the Apprentice stone also apply to destruction staff skills. I guess what I mean are the skill considered spell attacks?

    Staves are increased by weapon damage, which makes sense since youre using the staff for the power. Otherwise, consider the actives as spells. So they would use spell penetration.

    Checked the Thief stone again today (US Server), still not working. But I was watching a player on EU server and he was using the Thief which gave him 8% spell and weapon crit.

    you people need to get a clue... its working its just not showing in the char screen like all the mundus effects...

    Its been like that since forever and will most likely stay like that, but it is working.

    Really? I've had the Steed Stone effect on my character screen since forever.

    Not the effect text at the bottom with other effects.
    The actual numerical value increase from your base stats. There is no 'critical damage multiplier' stat in the vanilla character sheet anyway.

    Sucks to hear that Thief is still broken... although I've definitely seen something give me + spellcrit before, not sure what that's from (not magelight, not light armor, not my weapon, no set bonus).

    Hopefully they will fix the tooltip text (as well as the actual effect) soon. Until then, apprentice/ritual it is.

    You are wrong sir, I saw a live stream player on the EU server who had the Thief boon and it displayed 8% crit to both spell and weapon in the default character sheet. The question is, Why is it working on EU and not on US?

    The stone I've been testing is the one in Alik'r Desert. It may be possible that the Alik'r Desert stone is broke and perhaps some of the others like the one in Cyrodiil may work. I really have no idea but will try to test since I now have access to the other faction zones.

    When the servers go back up today I'm going to test the Thief again. Atm I'm using the Shadow stone for the extra critical dmg and it does provide a nice dmg bonus provided you have a good amount of crit to work with it.

    Currently, I'm at 40% crit without the Dark Magic buff of 15%, so with crystal fragments I'm at 55%, if the Thief stone gets fixed I'll be at 63% and when I get legendary weps I'll be at 65%.

    I thought in order for the Thief Stone to work (show in you stats) you actually had to have a weapon with Crit on (precise).
    I don't know, but I still have the Prismatic Staff from the Mage Guild quest with Crit on it and the Thief Stone works for me.

    Nope both my destro and resto staff's have 5% crit and the Thief stone still doesn't show the crit bonus in the default character sheet in game.

    When you say that the Thief works for you are you saying that you see the crit bonus number in the default character sheet at spell and weapon crit? or are u just saying that you see the boon buff listed in your character sheet? If you are just seeing the boon buff that is normal but your spell and weapon crit should show 8% from the boon which on the US server prior to today's patch it did not work but as I said it does work on the EU server as I have seen a live stream player with it.

    Today, I will be testing Alik'r Desert stone first and then Malabal stone with all addon's turned off. I don't yet have access to the Eastmarch stone and I don't want to bother testing the Cyrodiil stone as I don't feel like dodging pvp attacks just for testing but if someone else wishes to do it by all means go for it.

    I'll post screenshots of each stone.

    Weapon crit works for some spells, doesn't work for others. The system is very complex and it's very hard to determine what spells is affected by what. Some are affected by spell crit while others are affected by weapon crit.

    A "normal" rule is that heavy and normal attacks are affected by the weapon side of things while spells are affected by the spell side of things. But sometimes that's not the case and I've seen that per example healing seems to be affected by the weapon skill line for some peculiar reason - based on observation while having healing spells on the bar and turning on critical surge which also increases my weapon power.

    I'm still not sure how things are affected in this game and I'm trying to puzzle out how the stats are calculated. But it's difficult because you don't have too much to work on other than spells and what they do, and I'm still not sure if there are any modifiers in the formulations that work as a base or not.

    Just wish the Divine armor traits did more then 5% per piece.
    Cause a +35% (all 7 armor slots with divine) is not much.

    Eg The Lady = + 100 armor, with all 7 armor slots with divine you now get 135 armor.....

    The Tower = %5 more stamina, with 7 armor slots with divine, you now get 6.75% more stamina.....

    Now at V10 looking at making better armor and the Divine traits looks ok as you can 'swap' the bonus by just clicking on a different Mundus stone, but the number..... just don't seem worth it.

    So which trait to pick, (Exploration, Training and Sturdy are useless)
    I guess end game you adding gold/yellow enchantments, so Infused might be the best if I can find the number (eg how much better it makes a gold/yellow enchantments)

    Meh, without it I easily kept up with the imperial draft horses too, as long as my stamina held out.
    Guess I have to find somebody to race or I just go back to my trusty old Lady or find the Tower.
