On PCNA, it looks like the same number of WTB posts in zone and discord as before gifting stopped, but I'm seeing an increase in crown prices. It was 1k, but it's now 1.6k-2.8k.

My guess is prices will settle down. I bet some people were hoping to take advantage of being one of the first to start offering crown sales and/or assuming accounts allowed to send gifts are now the minority.

I've seen a lot of misinformation around it, including claims that ZOS is selectively or randomly enabling it on individual accounts, or that you have to have ESO+ active or even have to have at least 180 days of subscription time remaining, which is obviously someone misreading the rule that your account has to have been created (and logged into) at least 180 days ago.

I've seen some people saying gifting is only available to paid accounts, which I think is accurate, but I know from previous discussions some people don't realise that's the vast majority of ESO players, because they're used to free-to-play games where paid accounts are a small minority who paid for an "optional" upgrade or subscription. The only free accounts on ESO are the ones created during the Epic Store promotion (and maybe similar promotions). There's also accounts created through free weekend trials, but those can only log in during the free weekends.

Either way I suspect prices will settle down as more people realise it's been reenabled and they can sell crowns, and the people currently offering it get more competition.

In PCEU for what I have seen so far crown 'exchange' prices are the same as before 'the troubles' started (2k-2.2k gold per crown).

This is in 'regulated' trading where brokering is offered - an in some cases both sought and required.

I have no data on 'unregulated' trading though.

Please bear in mind that I use 'regulated' in the loosest possible way; there is no regulatory body - and there can't be anyway, the only ones that could take that role would be ZOS or their chosen representatives - just a short set of rules designed to keep everyone involved in the transaction(s) as safe a possible.

I've seen prices drop as low as 1400-1500 just before the crown gifting got disabled, on PC EU, regulated market. So far I've only seen people wtbing for 2000 after it being enabled again.

Please don't use the term regulated in this context.

There is nothing regulated about it.

Instead please use something like player controlled pricing, or something similar, but please ensure that player is in the term because the "regulated" part of those prices is player market driven.

Yea I’d highly advise against purchasing any crowns with gold right now since the prices are so absurdly high. They’ll level out sometime in the near future. 1.5K+ is absolute insanity, even on PC

There are those in the crown trading discord selling for nearly 3000 per crown for PC/NA. Just..... no. xD

The lowest I've seen is around 1200:1 on the same discord which is near the level it was before ZOS turned off gifting. The prices were 1000:1 usually then.

Saw a lot of wtb's yesterday on PC-EU offering 2000:1 which is broadly similar or just a bit higher than before gifting was disabled.

Personally I think prices will stay around that level whilst everyone buys what they've wanted for a while, also depends on whose got large stocks of crowns to sell and whether they are allowed to sell them!!

They were selling for 150 gold per crown on PS this morning.
Up from 100 per crown but not that bad.
I bet it is the gold selling crooks gouging on PC trying to make up their loss.
It is only a matter of time till it hits console.

It's not just sellers offering at high prices. It's buyers competing with other buyers and putting up WTB at high prices.

OK so it's been. Some years since I've bought any but back in the times it was like 100g per crown.

Are you guys telling me people are charging 1500g-2000g PER CROWN !?!?!?!

so 1000 crowns will cost me 2mil gold?

Am I reading that right or am I just stupid.

    Please say I'm stupid

Yes, that's on PCNA and EU. It looks like console is still lower.

If ZOS would just charge a fair price for their stupid crowns to begin with, nobody would bother with any of this nonsense. I mean let's get real here. 14K for a single player home is absolutely ridiculous. In the Steam store, when not on sale, 14K crowns costs $99 US dollars.

Their flagship product Starfield is $69.99 US dollars.

    Have people lost their minds?

    Crowns should be $.10 each.

I agree. 100%. Crown Store items are just plain exorbitant, IMO. As an ESO+ subscriber, I'm content to just wait for my monthly crown allotment, save up, and occasionally spring for something useful, like an extra character slot. Even then, I 'm careful with my purchases. Paying crowns for houses is just not something I can contemplate, at the prices they've been offered.

I got so mad thinking about the prices that I lost the ability to do math. Really you should be able to buy 1000 crowns for $1 US dollar. That would make their 14K house cost $14 US dollars which would be reasonable. I guess that would make the fair price for crowns $.001 each. Wow, that really drives home how overpriced they are!

yeah i normally never buy crowns outside of sales, if i buy them at all

theres a lot of stuff i want from crown store but at the current rates, absolutely not and its not worth using gold for either

one of the biggest issues i have are with assistants, while i appreciate that they have variety for them, 5000 crowns each for basically appearance changes are a hard pass for me to get more than what i have
