Warden tank - frost staff main?

So I've decided to start leveling up my warden who's been crafting stuff for a while now instead of actually playing him. I know I want to tank with him but was wondering if frost staff main weapon is viable for tanking or should I be going the traditional sword & board style?

    frost staff is fantastic for tanking, you'll want to use frost clench for your taunt. you can apply a lot of minor brittle to help out your group's damage. make sure to run frost wall on your backbar too.

    What do you use for major breach? Shalks? EleDrain?

    How about minor breach?
    PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

    Shalks provide both major and minor breach.

    @Kusto - oh, you're right of course! Thanks for reminding me. And the skill has the bonus of decent damage as well. I hadn't thought of it before but that puts it right up on par with the S&B taunt. :)

    I use frost staff front bar, sword and board back bar on my Arcanist tank.

    Well, you have shalks, but if you are using froststaff backbar you can also get minor breach from the wall of frost.
    It's uptime is dependent on chills, but that shouldn't be an issue on a frost warden. Actually, that should be the goal. 🥶

    Big issue with frost staff main is resources. You will be using magicka to block, if you have that passive. Second issue is block mitigation. Will not get the same amount of damage blocked with a staff as with a S&B, and again, it will cost more in resources.
