Glitch with refining materials (PlayStation)

I harvested roughly 7.6k rubedite ore during the first few days of this event. I refined them on the a day when an endeavor called for refining some materials. When I refined all, I received 0 Tempering Alloy and 0 Grain Solvent.

I’ve been playing since 2015 so I’ll go ahead and say that yes, Meticulous Disassembly was on and I have all my perks. I’ve never seen this happen before.

Has anyone else had this issue? I’m scared to refine my other materials now.

ive been seeing it with perfect roe --- i filleted 1400 of them and got 6 perfect roe out of it.

i posted on here about it and was told it was simply rng.

but i have also noticed that since it started happening the price of perfect roe on xbox na has doubled.

I have had an issue where the mats returned don’t properly show up in the center screen announcement. I have to rely on loot logs and comparing my craft bag amounts to figure out what I got. Are you comparing your numbers of alloy and solvent before and after, or relying on the announcement?

The drop chance for gold mats is about 1 in 200 for refining with other crafts (not counting Meticulous Disassembly, which doesn’t apply to fishing), so 6 out of 1400 sounds disappointing and less than expected but far from a red flag. On average I would expect 7. Your 6 would be made up for by getting 8 out of your next 1400. Since the chance is so low, very high numbers are required here to show when something is actually out of line with RNG. You’re definitely not alone, though - bad RNG on filleting is why I started selling my fish rather than trying my luck for the roe.

For comparison, one report from years ago had one person going 300-400 without a roe and then getting 2 in 15 fish.
