Benefits of Learning Motifs on Other Characters for Daily Writs

Outside of your main Master Crafter, do you focus on learning motif styles for other characters that you do Daily Writs with? If so, how much does learning the styles on other characters benefit your daily writ results?

While I don't hyperfocus on doing it, I do like to learn any dupe styles my main already knows on characters I can do the writs with, as well as learning traits too. It doesn't majorly help, but it does improve the odds at getting Master Writs (I think). That's about the only use I can think of, at least for me.

The only other use of learning motifs on non main characters I can think of is getting more options for leveling individual skills or class / weapon skill lines by doing master writs.

I learn spares on other characters to improve master writ drop rates. It doesn't seem to make much noticeable difference but I'm sure if I tracked it there would be an increase. Research gives a more obvious improvement but takes time so I do both together

Research and motif knowledge are weighted similarly in the calculation for getting master writ drops.

Knowing just a few motifs definitely makes a difference in the drop rates. My 3rd account that does writs has zero characters with any purple motif knowledge and gets less motifs than my 2nd account, which has multiple characters that know ones like hollowjack, new moon priest, etc... (and this is less than my main account which is significantly greater).
    \
Just for example: I get a blacksmithing master writ about 5.5% of the time on the 3rd account, I get one about 8.0% of the time on 2nd account (the 3rd account is still learning some traits, but has one of every trait researched, which should be all that matters). And it's 11.2% on the main account, which has about half of the characters just like the 2nd account, only knowing 2-3 full purple motifs.

Remember, only complete, purple motifs, count. That is, you know all 14 pages of the style. ZoS has stated that the base game racial motifs do not count.

motif knowledge does not affect any other drops related to daily writs.

    Great info!

Does learning motifs or researching traits have any weight on your chances to get better rewards from Hirelings or from doing the Daily Writs? Or do you have the exact same chance to get gold mats on a new character as you do a Master Crafter?

I only learn motifs on my main crafter and I only do that so I can use the styles for outfits because I don't craft gear, just furnishings.

I really wish they would make these account wide. All my characters can already use all the styles my main crafter knows for outfits so why not?

The only thing that affect hirelings is what level you have, in the passive.

Please no. They've already made enough account wide.

    Why not?
    1. motif knowledge affects the drop rate of master writs, make them account wide they become less valuable.
    2. letting players learn it multiple times helps keep the value of them up a bit, so that it's viable to run end game content to get them (please don't remove ANOTHER reason to do endgame, AwA has already DECIMATED the endgame population)
    3. You can already use all the styles to customize your look on any character, why do you need to take away another thing from some players? You said so yourself you don't "craft gear", so you are asking to take away something from others for something that would not benefit you in the least.

Oh how I hate the "slippery slope" logical fallacy, but here we are, players asking for more, more, more, at the expense of others... I already play (and PAY) far less in this game than I did before AwA, and I feel I am obligated to voice my opinion when anybody suggests further "account wide"ening of the game, because of ZoS' comment when AwA was introduced of "Everybody was asking for this...". No, not everybody was, but I was ignored. So I'm going to make sure they cant in good faith say the same thing again.

I’ll teach motifs to my alts if they’re cheap enough not to be worth selling and my main already knows them.
