Telvanni Event VOTE & QUEST CLARIFICATION

Tickets & Gold Coffer: Necrom daily — delve, world boss, Bastion Nymic
The tickets and gold coffer are once per day per account. Additional dailies earn you a purple coffer and two Necrom coffers (the double daily reward).

Event Progress & Vote: Turn in a stack of bound esoteric parchment pages (when you have five, Use them to bind them for turn in) to Mouth Gilvas. You will then select whether you wish to support Tralise (music box) or Yensa (tome).
This quest can be done once per character per day.

Pages can be found anywhere. Harvest nodes and treasure chests may be the most efficient means of finding them. Tougher foes like world bosses may have a higher drop rate, but given the lower frequency of facing them, there is a good chance it will take longer overall to acquire pages by trying to farm them this way. Also note that pages can be banked, traded, and sold.

You do not have to collect relics or go to Bastion Nymic to get tickets or vote! It is a tour of Necrom, similar to what there has been in other events (often do three things and then report to a chronicler or other character), only this time connected to a story.

I hope this helps! I have seen confusion regarding this quest in many threads.
Best wishes and enjoy the event! :)

Music box can play music, but what about the tome ? Does it have any special interactions / features aside from glowing ? If not then Music box is way better reward imho.

It seems that you can only do the "Turn the Page" quest once per character, however. Having done the quest on a few characters yesterday, they no longer have the ability to do the quest again today.

That's correct. That's part of the nature of it being a daily event quest.

In previous events analogous to this one, however, most meters were incremented per account, while one was specifically per character:

Summerset - Pathfinder achievement (per account)
Elsweyr - Pathfinder achievement (per account)
Skyrim - antiquities (account/character agnostic, since it wasn't measuring quests or achievements)
    Blackwood - Pathfinder (per character)
High Isle - Pathfinder (per account, since that achievement was account wide by that point)

So it was necessary for Kevin to clarify that doing Turn the Page on multiple characters per day would still contribute to the meter.

Thank you! I did the quest yesterday too, but today I could only find master Faras and the sisters. They told me to speak to Mouth Gilvas, but unfortunately, didn't give me any clue where he was, or even that he left his previous location.

I started to think the quest was bugged, but I just found him, thanks to your post.

True, but I think the confusion arises from players knowing they must choose between Tralise and Yensa, and then Tralise advocating finding the relics first while Yensa prioritizes finding the pages. Tralise even emphasizes that the relics should be found first and that the pages can wait. Of course, this is in character, separate from what players must complete for particular rewards.

The in-game experience for this event could certainly be improved, I'd very much agree with that. I also don't think the original event questgiver should be off in an unmarked location to begin with, and I don't think the questgiver should move locations the next day. (Kevin's already noted that second point and will pass it on.) My point was really in regards to the implication that the CMs aren't doing their job in providing clarification. If a CM were to offer clarification on how to cast your vote, they would just be repeating the text of the article, since they can't change the gameplay itself. That the actual gameplay is confusing is certainly an issue, but it's a matter of design that should be passed along to the relevant devs. Definitely lots to be taken into consideration here to address for future events, but I don't think CMs are to blame here for failing to provide clarification on these points.

Just want to reiterate that we are taking the feedback regarding some confusion points back to the team. Additionally, we will have a thread live toward the end of the event to get feedback as well, now that more players outside of PTS have been able to partake in the event.

A lot of the general points about the event are highlighted in the article and we post those before every event so players know what to do. And we are taking time to answer one off questions as we see them, in addition to addressing event questions in our event announcement thread.

With all that being said, if there is additional feedback on how to get clarifying information out to players in a better manner, happy to take that feedback and see how we can incorporate that in the future to make this a smoother process.

It's nice to have an article, so thanks for putting that together. Is the intention to rely on that article before hopping in-game? I'd suggest the devs find a way to use the announcement screens in-game to convey the same information. Or a mail message to the player too.

Making players have to read an article outside of the game to understand how to participate in an in-game event isn't going to work for everyone. Some players don't check TESO social media or the forum. Some just log in and play the game, so the info should be explained in the game.

Yes, I had to answer this in guild chat earlier because someone wondered if there was any consequences in which sister to choose.

The Mouth moving away from the event area and to the Impresario area is a big issue. Lots of folks in game chat today thought it was a one-and-done because they didn’t see the quest-giver in the original spot anymore.

It kinda feels like the events get made more complicated/confusing as we go and, as a result, those of us who do visit the forums end up spending half our game time explaining how the event works/answering questions from those who do not follow the forum/blog/social media. Which is not a huge issue save for it’s a community event with community goals so you kinda want everyone to know/understand/pitch in…

Tralise even emphasizes that the relics should be found first and that the pages can wait. Of course, this is in character, separate from what players must complete for particular rewards.

That's certainly what caught me out. We were told it's a choice between the two sisters and then they both offer a quest (with stories that make them sound like competing priorities). At the time I thought that was the choice, and I suspect a lot of people thought the same.

I read the article first and understood it - you do 1 quest, and at the end of it you choose to support 1 sister or the other. At that point it seemed very clear.

But then I started doing it, I picked up the one holiday quest from the crown store and on completing it I was offered a choice of two quests - one given by each sister. So I assumed that was the choice described in the article - that the two quests would be mutually exclusive and I'd have to pick which one to complete and so which sister to support. (I didn't remember the name of the quest in the article and didn't think it was necessary to check because at the time I thought I understood what was going on.)

I accepted both of them because I wanted to see how far I could get before choosing, and while I was doing them I found out it's only the quest for collecting pages that counts towards the vote, and at the end of it you pick a sister, entirely seperate from whether you did one or both quests.

So it was a short-term thing, and for me not really a problem because I planned to complete both as much as I could (and if I had to pick I'd do the other one the next day to see how it played out) but I can see how if the choice is important to someone they might have missed the quest offered by the sister they don't want to support. (Especially if they pick Tralise and so don't see the choice at the end of the Turn the Page quest.)

I had a very weird situation (which based on this thread might have been a bug) because when I went to turn in both quests he hadn't moved, instead there was a second copy of Mouth Gilvas.

I could still see him standing in the exact same spot as when I started the quest, just to one side of the ritual circle, but I couldn't talk to him or interact with him in any way. I double checked I had the quest and that it told me to talk to him, checked I didn't have the PinKiller addon turned on (which disables quest markers but shouldn't block interacting with NPCs) and used /reloadUI just in case, then noticed the quest marker was somewhere else entirely and followed it to find the correct copy of the NPC.

What is confusing at first is that when you get the quest Tralise gives you to acquire the three things, she has a blue marker above her head instead of a white one so you think it is a daily when it is in fact a one time per character quest. The real daily one comes from the Mouth.

I get one for each delve I do first thing in the morning. Pick up from the right-hand ordinator upstairs from the wayshrine (Tilena? maybe), go do the delve, turn in, get gold coffer and tickets. The Turn in Page quest does NOT reward the gold coffer or tickets.

If you don't want to do delves, the other ordinator (next to Tilena) has WB quests I think.

While you are technically correct, you fail to get the point.
    Its about communication.
That article's sentences are long and using names and references that noone at this point could have gotten.
    That created confusion.
Not that there was no article. There was a confusing article.

Plus the fact that there was important information not mentioned, like the quest seemingly having to be active to get these pages to drop. Or, these pages having a ludicrously low drop chance.

I feel a problem with this polling system is that you turn the items in to one person, and pick a sister via dialogue... which most people spam through in quest turn-in using their interact key, meaning most will "vote" for the top option (Yensa) without even thinking about it or meaning to (I know this from experience bc, even KNOWING about the poll and trying to be careful, I just did this bc muscle memory can be fickle and I was tired). Instead of the quest marker splitting between two characters, each presenting their potential reward as a preview and saying "you can only choose one" or sth. Something making it super obvious.
